Carmentis: thanks for the links! I am playing lots of console games too, to see how they implemented the combats

Then, realizing that she was a younger dwarf, and likely a surface dweller who wouldn't need the antennae, I began to relax.

Haha yes, but I wanted something cute to attract another segment of players
No comment about Morrigan: since I liked it mostly for... her exterior appearance and spells/magic, but indeed as personality was a bit annoying sometimes

SpectralTime wrote:Dunno about the battle system. I didn't see how Planet Stronghold was that unaccessible, save for the fact that many of the skills were a little imbalanced. If I had to change anything, it would be varying the amount of skill points you get per rank with difficulty. That just sucked, watching the enemies get stronger and stronger and knowing you wouldn't have any way to keep yourself at their standards.

Well I might keep the same visuals, but I definitely want a skilltree. I think is more easy to balance than skills (it's basically ON/OFF, versus a wide range of values). There have been several threads in various forums in which people discussed game difficulty, but mostly complained about the sudden game over. Already in PS add-on (by the way, artist made some new sprites today, yay!) I will autosave the game before each battle, and if you lose will give the possibility to reload just before the battle starts. I am also thinking about having in the easy mode no way to permanently get game over after a defeat.
I know those things seems excessive but my goal is to make a game that can be played by "regular" RPG players at normal/hard difficulty, and by casual players at easy mode. Recently I played a lot Fable 2 on my xbox and I was first shocked when I realized that I CANNOT GET GAME OVER in a battle. At first I said "LOL what? this game is a joke", but then later I appreciated the choice, since I hate restarting the same battle over and over! I find myself more and more similar to casual players, by which I mean not people unable to play complex games, but people that don't have much time available so prefer to keep going forward in the story, maybe with other penalties (losing big amount of XP if you die in a battle, and so on) than having to restart from last checkpoint until you win.

temporary background, this is when you choose your hero. Differently from Planet Stronghold, I'm thinking to have the different character have different skills. Saren the human more skilled in close range combat, while Elenor the elf in long-range. Both will be able to heal, since Loren will be the main "tank" or "damage dealer", so especially in the beginning of the game there's need of someone who can heal 8)

Plus you know... since you'll heal her so much, Loren could get affectionate to you and...

No problem on the links! d(^_^)

Also I like the idea of having different stats/skill depending on who you chose. As it says the elf girl prefers long range combat and of course that is true at the beginning of the game but you can evolve her later on if you want to different skills. Although since both can heal I think you should at least make both have some magic with them because then they can either become like the male a battle-mage or the female elf a more druidish type.

And tsk! Don't tease me like that! I can just hear her (or in my case a male character) thanking for all the heals after combat.

PS. Like I said to me dwarf girls are always adorable to me! From the World of Warcraft version to the type like you have, the Lineage 2 version! A screenshot of what I'm talking about for the Lineage 2 version is here: http://l2vault.ign.com/C3_Review/117_Dw ... _majes.jpg

Ah yes, definitely similar to my female dwarves style. Much better than those tolkien-bearded ones

they seem a nice couple... a pity that in this image Saren has just been scolded by Loren for his ignorance of the amazon laws.

LOL ! No was joking, I love tolkien and those settings, but I think wouldn't have fit using manga art. Already the bearded male dwarf looks a bit weird

Oh. My. God. I just want to rape Saren looking like that and his look that he looks like he's a puppy you just kicked. =d

I have such a thing for dwarfs, seriously. I remember in Dragon Age: Origins I wanted to romance some.

Two new character images, both are enemies. Jul the demoness and Mesphit the dark elf:

in this picture we see Karen, Loren's missing mother. As you can see there's a clear resemblance... particularly in the chest size

While I am deeply saddened that neither Jul nor Mesphit will be a romance option I will have to comfort myself in thoroughly enjoying their appearances in the game. With my eyes. I'm really enjoying the manhwa style of the art (I liked the original art as well, but this style also works) a bit manga looking, but with a nice softer blend to it.
