It's true they're seen has different "species" but they're not. In order for that to be true, they'd have to have come from different places .Spoiler:
It's established that they can inter-breed, but I believe it was asked at one point if they are like mules and cannot produce children of their mixed lineage. In a happy world, they can. So I want to believe that Draco can have little half-half-elf babies if he wanted to. Druids and demons, however, are magical races so they are an exception.
