Runs fine for me, but the one problem is the serial key for the DLC does not work in this beta but is accepted by the current stable version.

Are save files compatible?

Yes surprisingly I was able to load old saves from 1.2.9 without problems!
That shows how crazy SOTW was, the only game which had issues with savegames probably due to its complexity
