Hum, so many ideas...Oh, just have a question: If every party member is going to be romanceable, how many GXB, GXG, BXG and BXB is going to have in it? I'm sincerely confused bout that.O_o
By the way, can we have multiclass?

If Draco's not in the sequel, I might legitimately cry. I don't know if I can go a whole game without his hilarious dialogue and his amazing and heartwarming romance scenes. ._.

I must also add that I love the blinking effect for the main characters. Don't ask me why but it just makes me love the game more and more. I feel more immersed into it and it feels a bit more 'real'.

I hope he gets a cameo or at least gets mentioned. He ends up semi-famous as an entertainer in his ending, so even if he doesn't crop up in person, it'd be neat if one of the companions brought him up in one of the campsite chats.grubses wrote:If Draco's not in the sequel, I might legitimately cry. Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
Everyone should do cameos...And have romances conversations. What? Just because they are not in your party, it doesnt mean this is the end of your relationship(mas effect 2/mass effect 3 anyone?), in fact it could be nice to have a conflict between those characters, like, if you romaced Myrth in the first game, but in the sequel you go for one new characters(Nook for exemple), there could be in the beginning of the game a conversation with Myrth(before Nook's romance is even started) in which she asks if you still love her. Now that's great, because you can say that you do and during the game, while romancing Nook, both of them would be aware of each other and force the player to choose between them. If you said in the beginning of the game that you no longer feels love towards Myrth, then that decision doesnt need to happen. This is good because it would give the players the opportunity to keep the romances or start a new one without soulding unrealistic, unless all of your old romances from the first game happened to be douches and they for some reason or another, decided to cut the relationship short. I still think you should be able to set in the beginning who you romanced in the last one, but I do understand how difficult it is, due to number of romances. I just don't see a reason why my Elenor is not still loved by Loren/Rei/Amukiki or my Saren with Draco/Myrth. No matter what, there must be a explanation in the sequel about this, a sensible one, because if Loren says something like "Oh, Elenor, my dear, I know I had promised to love you forever and everything, but I'm queen now and you no longer fits my requirements. No hard feelings, ok?" in the game, I'm sure a loooooot of people will get confused with the sudden change of behavior. Since the game is a few years from the first, Loren could say she was, I don't know, pressured by the amazons to not be with a ex-slave(that is still douchey, but whatever), and during the game you could try to bridge the gap between the both of them again. She wouldn't join your party, but it would be beautiful to recover a old love, and story wise it would make sense. X__X

Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
Thanks about all the nice words Carmentis
about this:

All characters from the first game will have at least cameos/some scenes, that's guaranteed. For romance I think I have made already enough since there are 12 romances / CGs to do, which is a +50% increase vs the first game (which had "only" 8 ).
Continuing romances from previous game will be probably too much, especially since we'll very likely use a "canon ending". Of course when we'll get to write the game things might change but I don't know if Aleema wants to take into account all the possible romance outcomes (it's quite a lot of work to write!).
I will try to put more CG art though, both for important event but also for the camp dialog. A thing I wanted to do is show the characters in the environment when you do camp dialog, not just standing still. Like Amukiki sitting near the fireplace with the flames emphasizing his chest muscles
or Breza standing near a tree in a pose that shows more her legs, etc. More natural poses I mean for someone that is relaxing in a camp. Also, more interesting
I balanced the sequel so there are 3 (the magic number!) romances for each combo. So 3 GxB, 3 BxG, etc. Some characters are bisex, actually quite a good amount now that I look at it. The biggest surprise (I guess I can anticipate it) is that this time you won't play the henchman of anyone, so... there won't be Loren as playable character ! She will be in the story of course though, playing a big role anyway.Madance wrote:Hum, so many ideas...Oh, just have a question: If every party member is going to be romanceable, how many GXB, GXG, BXG and BXB is going to have in it? Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
I'm a romantic, so my personal preference is to check every damn romance even if it kills me. It's something I know I would want if I was a player. Not sure how this would work with the sequel or if it's possible, but that's my preference, especially since you're playing the same character as before. If it was a different PC, I would be less inclined.

Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
Hmm but there's a problem, let's say you start the game and the previous romance continues... how do you deal with the new ones? you would have also to write the various break ups? and for the existing relationship, the dialogues should be different (I mean since you already romanced Rei, he couldn't behave like a complete stranger). Even if there are "only" 4 (6 if I get to make an add-on even for this one as I plan) of the first game characters that are romanceable in the sequel too, so maybe it's possible, also using some narrative "tricks". Time will tell!

Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
If you're going with the Mass Effect approach (the sequel is just the same people + extra characters), then that's how the romances would be handled. Again, this is only an issue if you're playing Saren/Elenor. I think players would pretty peeved if their romances are tossed or considered not important enough (see: people who were angry with Planet Stronghold/Spirited Heart break up endings.)
So, just speaking right now, yeah, break up dialogue or ... Harem Ending!

Re: In a hypothetical sequel...
Harem endings rule but some combos are hard to imagine (Rei/Mesphit or Myrth/Chambara for example
)
