Yes you're right. The main reason was lack of time

the game final word count is 250,000 words, and still we could have added more stuff like a codex (what Aleema is doing on Planet Stronghold 2 for example). Always hard to balance the amount of time needed to make the game while looking outside the window and see crowd of people with pitchfork demanding the game to be out soon

But in the sequel beside the fact that Jul will be a playable character, even the other "evil" character will show better their motivations, having more character development than the first game for sure

That sounds great!! I can imagine, balancing all the aspects of creating a game out, are pretty tiresome. Story, Graphics, Music, Gameplay-Coding, Dialogues, Advertising, regulations, communication with Fans. And as a Indie-Designer you basicly do all, or a lot of this work yourself. Therefore. I don´t expect you to do miracles and walk over water, but just produce something solid. Lets say a better Loren 1. Well i have patience. I will not join the crowd with the pitchfork to yell at you to release the game. Take your time. Wine, Men and Computergames are all alike. They grow better over Time. So take yourself your time.
(Jul be playable. Man this is a great turn on. This qould be my reason to play Saren, to subjugate my little sweet succubus.

)

I never said that Loren 1 was bad ^^ I liked the game.
Writing is indeed the key to everything. As many of you said, a good writer can turn a linear plot into great entertainment, whilst a ... crappy author ... can turn a really nice concept a story no one wants to finish cus of boredom. Had lots of games from both sides. That's why I hope that Aleema will not lose the spice in her writing ^^

I agree that Fost was rather flat and uninspiring as major villains go, and the cheesy artwork (empty suit of armor with glowing eyes) made it hard to take him seriously. Luckily the game had lots of other strengths to make up for this weakness.
