In Loren there wasn't a pseudo random generator, but it would pick randomly from the list, based on some parameters (value of the items mainly but also party level, etc). Each vendor was specialized in something, and there were some "super vendors" carrying the most powerful items, like the one that you can find on Chzulu temple after you defeat the lizardmen or the one in chapter4 just before the final battle :)

Hmm...why don't I remember the Chzulu temple?!?!?!? I'll have to go specifically look for it the next time I open up the game. I checked out all the rest countless times, and there were still quite a few items I never saw.

Hope this is the right place for this.

Loved Loren 1, and eagerly await the sequel, even if it is far off ;)

I hope I'm not repeating anything (I did go through all the pages, but I could easily overlook something).

I agree that 'revisiting' the love stage with previous people makes little sense. However, I would love to see a dialogue or two that would allow one to interact as just a normal couple. One idea is buying/procuring a gift for your beloved. This could be done in a city/town one visits. Of course, reactions would vary. Giving Myrth a flower may actually anger her ("You cut a poor flower, dooming it to death, just for decoration!?!") while Loren could actually show some depth beyond combat ("Amazons make a rather delicious rose-petaled wine"). And yeah, I'm picturing Elenor/Saren sharing a rose-scented bath ;)

4) Game longevity depends on how you play it, if you read quickly and so on. I noticed many people replayed the game at least twice to see the different romances. I suppose if you're not much interested in all the romances it can be shorter. Anyway, I am also somewhat forced to have high prices because my games aren't on big portals like Steam or GoG (they rejected them all). To be honest I got very few complaints about game prices, and in any case I do regular sales so you can just wait to pick the game when I do one if you prefer :)
5) The epilogues were voluntarily left a bit vague since we were planning the sequel already by that time. So making it very detailed could lead to problem when in the sequel we need to pick up the various romances and the situations as we left in previous title
Damn I can't believe Steam and GoG rejected them didn't know that until now and I was wondering why they weren't on steam which sucks because I know people who would buy this if it was on Steam I just wish people would explore more options and be more flexible. I really feel for you though Jack your games are great and I have no idea why Steam rejected it if it was put into one of the steam bundles which they do you could end up with a lot more fans too the main reason this makes me furious  the fact is that there are so many terrible and broken games that get released on there that the quality control is really strange as I am sure some gamers here on this forum will remember the huge fiasco with War-z. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul8r5HN6k98

Very upsetting to read that I have to say it makes me lose faith in GoG and Steam which I normally have a lot of respect for at least Desura took you on which is good. Best of luck with your future projects though and I really do hope they change their policies in the future because even big titles these days have glitches in it and I can safely say that with Winterwolves games I have never come across a single bug or glitch and that is achievement in itself considering how many games expect you to Beta test for them.

Thanks, well things for Steam could be changing now, since they're accepting more and more games every month. Nothing is sure of course, but I really think that if they keep what they're doing Loren could be in next year. Then it would be hilarious of GoG changed their mind after that. I would probably say no at that point  (just out of pride)

Well, I for one have voted for Loren and Planet Stronghold. As for GoG, hard to say what they selection process is. I do find it interesting Long Live the Queen didn't really appear until after it passed the Greenlight status on Steam. Don't get me wrong, I love the game Hanako Games made, but if one was of a conspiracy mindset, it does seem weird it happened.

Anyways on to a legit question. I do like the fact one will be able to answer certain questions at the start of Loren 2 (much easier than trying to import save files). However, will one have the choice to make their Elenor/Saren 'single' at the outset?

If I am playing an Elenor/Karen pair, I would have a hard time splitting it up to allow Elenor explore a Breza relationship. Heh, this is just a minor mindset thing, I admit.

Publishers and journalists are,"de facto", sheep (I'm not the only one saying this). When they see one big site reviewing a game, another one will follow. Same for publishers, there are really VERY FEW that take initiative with a unknown/semi-unknown title. Despite all the faults, Valve once again is showing the road to others with Greenlight.

Yes, like with Planet Stronghold 2, you can begin the game as single if you want :)

What of Fluffy?

And after a new playthrough of Loren, it has left me with a burning question: What of Fluffy?

Will Loren have her way, and have Fluffy to keep her feet warm at night?
Will Dora convince Draco to allow the beastie to be her steed?
Will Saren play 'fetch the stick' with Fluffy, and hilarity ensues as he takes one of Myrth's strategic branches?

You mean Trouble? I'll just assume you get the names mixed up because you are a fellow Harry Potter fan. 8) (Wonder if those two dogs are related? That would make a fun crossover fanfic.)

   Please include this in the game! I would laugh so much that I'd wake the entire neighbourhood.

*blushes furiously*

I've played so many of Winter Wolves Games in the last couple months I've been screwing up names. For example, I was calling Rebecca Fox by 'Ellen'. I really don't know why, just did. Of course, working graveyard shift doesn't help, but that only goes so far.

But yes, I was a Harry Potter fan.

This is why I loved Chambara's interactions. They usually had a touch of humor, and were a bit different. Some of my favorite interactions was like the 'weather' scene with Loren, or the 'porridge' with Karen.
