(Sorry, if this has been asked before....)
So, does that mean the combat system will be more like Planet Stronghold, visually? Or is it going to be kept with the simplified grid of faces used in Loren1? I'm curious as the monster artwork you've been showing so far looks really good. It would be a shame if you only see it during those few times they would come up in story dialogue.
As for they release delay, it comes out when it comes out. I'd rather wait and it be good then see something rushed and end up "meh".

I am not sure yet but I wouldn't use the portrait system, at least something like Seasons Of The Wolf. Check this thread for some example screenshots:

My ideal system would be an isometric view with a full battlefield where characters can move (like Final Fantasy Tactics) but I think there's still some time before I can deliver a game with that system

You would need one hell of a good sprite artist for that

That would be amazing to have as the battle system for your RPGs, really hope you can realize your ideal plan some day!

I hope too, even if I'd need a good artist and a good coder, AND a lot of time

No doubt, but I think it would be very much worth it

Sudden thought popped in my head, but I have to ask, does save data count? I didn't read the whole thing to see if this was addressed but sure Fost counts as the canonical ending (And no one important dies), but do any of your old romance options remember your previous adventure? For example (I'm going by the Loren 2 Romance chart where Loren romance is expansion), lets say Loren and Saren were together in 1, but then Saren goes with Myrth in 2. Would something happen to address that? Like if you watched the whole fight between them where you choose one or the other, that could affect their reasoning as to why you choose the other.
I know this would involve more coding and writing, but it was a random thought. Granted, I would love to see it, but would seem hard to implement.

In the beginning you choose what happened in the first game, using savegames was a bad idea since people might have lost them anyway. Besides with choices you can experiment and see different scenarios without the need to have 50 different savegames

So it's like Dragon Age 2 where you can choose something pre-determined, except with individual choices instead of a save. Okay, that's good. I would have been said if no one remembered any of the events we went through.
Another odd thought. If we do pick what events happened from the first game, can we have, say Saren as the main in the first, then play as Elenor? Kind of curious what a new perspective could look like.

So if the choices can be...er, re-chosen at the start of 2, that means the deaths as well. Won't that cause a rather large amount of work having to re-write entire alternate versions of the story if someone killed of the woman who's name is kinda on the game series? Especially considering the odds of how many or few people actually chose that route....(more so after the dlc options)
Don't get me wrong, that would be amazing....but I would rather you guys/gals don't go insane with work just for one feature.
