maybe he will get a special combat move where he summons his friends in black shirts to play heavy metal and drink beer after the fight ^^

Oooooh a quest of getting a pet plus(like that extra personal quest of your camping companion to finish unfinished business) a fun quest for bonding with it and an ending if you don't romance you run of in an adventure with your pet, sorta like Trouble the hell hound, I want a griffin(I'm so happy that griffins exist in your game!) or a big cat(like my pic)! the current games of consoles are normally summon beast companion, horses, dogs,(recently dragon riding in Skyrim) the closest thing for a griffin was in Dragon's Dogma but you kill the magnificent beast instead  and in Dragon Age they mention griffins in the old Grey Warden days, why the died out ticks me off, though you can always count on your Mabari war hound(of just pet) for loyalty, unless you abuse it, it has the right to rip you apart  (hate animal cruelty) the camp talk with Trouble reminded me of Dragon Age, the character's reaction to it, I love that bit  , even if you don't put it in the main plot can it be part of an expansion then?

The griffin pet is a nice idea :) for the base game not sure but for the 3rd part I'll try to add it!

I don't know if the cities in Loren 2 will be much like the ones in Loren, but if so, it would be neat if they were a little more immersive. Some ideas:

Rather than buttons for "Tasks" and "Shop," you could have some character sprites scattered around the map that you click on to talk to. I'm not imagining a bunch of extra writing here--just a merchant (one "hey buy my stuff" line) and a "what's happening" person (one or two lines regarding each task plus maybe a bit of general information about the city.) To make it really cool, maybe there could occasionally be another person who'd give you a unique task, or a party member you could click on to hear a random comment about the city/have a conversation you can only have there/be informed that they're playing with street urchins or something.

I think the tasks would benefit the most from this. A couple lines of text before and after each task would make them feel more like sidequests and less like grinding--especially if there were a few unique, non-repeatable tasks that were slightly more involved (think half of a character quest). Even if the task still only consists of a battle, it would add a lot if rather than clicking a "defend farms" button you clicked on a guy who's like "Hey our farms need defending"--> BATTLE -->"Thanks, have some gold."

Even if the city screens are already made and are not particularly adaptable to having little dudes standing around on them, you could just replace the "Tasks" button with a "Talk to city crier/guard captain/whoever-would-hand-out-tasks" button to do this.

(It would be really neat if all the cities had a few districts you could go to with a person to talk to in each one, like the first time you enter Grimoire in Loren, but I imagine that would be a lot more intensive.)

I've many ideas about the sequel, including some that favor more the classic "exploration" part of RPG, since is one of the main complaint I got for the games (I got very few complaints in general, but this is one). I had the idea of using a isometric view like Puzzle Quest 2, where you could see the town and click on some zones/characters to interact (so not a full iso map with pathfinding, it would still be quite simple to code but require lot of art).
As always it comes up to the question: better to invest more in the game, making people wait one year more, or it wouldn't be worth it? considering how eager people seems to be, perhaps is better if I save those "experiments" to other minor/secondary RPGs and not in probably the most waited game (Loren's sequel).

Yeah, please don't make the sequel TOO different from the original game we loved! :)

Yes, that's not my plan. As I said I can always experiment with the other games and then see if people like it, but no point in changing too much from the previous game :)
