Sell the complete game for $50 in 2015 and give us another small "Tales of Aravorn" game in the meantime. Maybe one that had some of the new characters, so we got a chance to know them, then W00T, romance them in Loren 2! That would be my preferred option. :)

Splitting this... no, I can't wrap my mind around how you'd do it gracefully. That's your headache!

Thanks for the feedback. Is cool to know that many people wouldn't have problems with a big game, but I am quite sure that $49 bucks would be too much for most people even if the game was immensely huge (I understand them to be honest). I don't think makes much sense for me to do such a game price, even if of course there'll be discount sales periodically, if the base price is so high many people wouldn't be encouraged to buy it.

About moving Mesphit on the second part... he ALREADY is :) I think is better if I show you this:
Image
that is the current setup, and as you can see the only solution is to move two bisexual character romances. Amukiki as Aleema said makes sense since he is a gladiator and could be traveling the world (SOTW cameo) right when the events happens. Chambara also makes sense since if you remember she wasn't really eager to take part in the "save the world" party in the first game

Tonight I thought about a possibility, though could be harder to write and would sound a bit of a trick (and there could be some side effect)... using the new teleportation magic or the griffons, would be easier to move around the world. So I was thinking that each of the games can have the required character for the story (Jul in the first, Loren in the second - don't ask, is a spoiler!). But the romances could be written independently of the story. So after the first game there would be the first "batch", after the second the second "batch" (which would be added to the first, so the romances would be present in both games, but be the same). And the main plot could be considered some kind of missions, but the romances and main plot would be more independent. It could even be a single game/download, and the second part would configure as a DLC but a BIG one... the problem is that people usually associate DLC with small things, but in this case it would be huge and would cost as much as the base game

Still mumbling about it...

I knew it that Samaras is a vampire!!! :D I'm really excited to see this game come out and honestly I would pay all 49$ to get it. Knowing the first game second promises to be even more epic so I will definitely want to play it. It's a shame that it will take such a long time... but oh well, good things come in time. :)

Oops big mistake on my part (never post stuff when you've just woken up and are still sleepy). However, we were just discussing this yesterday so he might be not a vampire at all (you know not only vampires have long fangs...).

I believe it will be difficult to transfer characters ;-) especially our kiny witch ;-)

As far as your posts read, it is planned that you will be able to change your romances during the course of the game since in contrast to Loren 1 several romance options will just appear in the sequel which will take place after the events of the main game. In loren 1 the expansion was next to the main plot so you could romance characters like chambarra normally during a game. But if I understood this right, you will have to include romantic content in the expansions for the first game romances, too. So e.g. someone romance amukiki, he/she wants to have her romantic CG during the first game of Loren 2 and in the second game of Loren 2 with the option to dump him after part 1 and get someone else in part 2. Otherwhise it might become difficult to "wait" for someone like Breza during the whole first game without having some romantic content to fill the time since romances are an important part of the game for your customers :-).
On the other hand, you have to be able to finish the romance-plots during the first part of Loren 2 for the customers who do not want to buy the second part. Otherwhise you will have a cliff hanger and people might think that they cannot finish their romance without buying part 2 or they have to wait for another year to finish the story. I think this is a somewhat frustrating experience for gamers.

This will also lead to up to five romantic plots for all old characters, since you need a romance in Loren 1, Loren 2 Part 1, Loren 2 part 2 and the cross-romances where you date two (or even three) people throughout the course of the game and change your romantic partner after Loren 1 or Loren 2 part 1.

This is a hillarious decision tree which will make your game explode even more in size if you want to satisfy everyone.

Maybe it is possible to "combine" plot elements for every character. You could e.g. include scenes where draco and myrth are arguing over burning too many plants to impress Saren with his fireworks. Maybe you could even set up 2 characters against each other which become rivals during Loren 2, so you can use these scenes twice to reduce your amount of work. This would go along well with the discussed rivalry option in another thread. You'll just have to write different endings and maybe the start for every romance option and have only 50% of the work for the rest. I know that this will have some recycling feel to it, but it will comprimize the gamevolume.

Perhaps do what you did in Loren 1. Core characters in the first part, and the secondary characters (again) in part two.

I will agree with Franka and will say, WAT.

Personally, ease up with the Loren 2 teasers, and work on your existing projects maybe. Hide it and give it a huge back burner (remember my fans service pet peeve?) I will enjoy a laugh when Loren 2 comes out before Undead Lily or Planet Stronghold 2!

Cheers

Oh but I AM working on the current projects :) (probably too much...bu that's another matter). I only posted Loren2 romances a few months ago because people "asked nicely" (in reality: they obsessed me! ROFL), and now this thread to ask for feedback, but I'm not going to post anything again until we have actually something to show (like a development screenshot). I honestly hope Loren 2 doesn't come out BEFORE UL or PS2 since that would mean the other two games were stalled for 2 years

Like some of the others said, I wouldn't mind paying $49+ for a full game of the same quality (or better) as the first Loren game so I don't have a lot of feedback at the moment, but I feel that if you're going to separate Loren 2 into two chapters, you should probably consider putting BOTH Chambara and Mesphilt in the first half - if only because both of them joined the party quite late into the previous game/expansion (at least it felt that way for me since I bought the original earlier on and had to wait for the expansion to be released) so it felt like they didn't get as much screentime/interaction as the other party members. Putting them in earlier for this game would probably help with that? If you guys have something planned storywise for both of them that required them to come in later again, though then please feel free to ignore me |D

Can I buy only the second game if I want?

Well it depends how we make it... if we're going the "two separate stories" route, yes it could be possible. Seeing how many people wouldn't mind paying $49 made me reconsider my plans a bit. I still would like to have some kind of "modular approach", I mean instead of pay $49 or nothing. Maybe it would make sense to have two versions depending if you play as male or female, like I do with my dating sim ?
(still thinking about it and throwing ideas... even if ultimately I'll value mostly Aleema's opinion since she has to write it).
