I like the idea of having more stout female dwarves. Honestly, when I first saw Dora I thought she was a hafling or a gnome. XD Maybe some kind of smaller elf. (Woodland elf? But not the ears.)
I think beards would be okay-- if it was treated respectfully. The fantasy genre tends to treat bearded dwarven women like a joke, and promotes a pretty... Anti-gender non-conformity vibe? (There are actually women, who identify as women, and grow beards naturally. Women with PCOS sometimes see this happen.)
