Don't worry, to be honest even the writing and the art are behind (artist still needs to draw the talking scenes and I think will take at least 1-2months for all the characters). The good thing is that I'm preparing lots of art for next RPGs, so once the coding is done the next ones should come quicker. Well in theory at least

from what I've seen, PH2 should be out this year, while we'll be lucky if Loren 2 even comes out next year.
So she has time to do this first then loren 2

Yes Aleema is writing PS2, but she had some real life issues (like everyone has sometimes) so couldn't write as usual. But now everything seems solved, I think she could do PS2 this year and at least write a good amount of Loren 2 next year. But as I said, I realized that with Loren everything went right at first try, so I'm starting several RPGs in parallel hoping to have at least one out each year :)

(You might not believe it but SOME people had still trouble with PS1 playing in Easy mode! )
Anyway all is just talk for now, but when I get to the beta testing, based on players feedback will tweak the difficulty. Probably what you say makes sense, both RPG and colony sim difficulty should be similar, and the colony sim shouldn't be simplified. But I need also to see how it will integrate with the game, might just be as you said that skipping/doing a poor job in the colony sim could make the RPG battles harder.
Have you considered doing it like Jade Empire, where the combat and the minigames had separate difficulty settings? So you could have combat set on hard but colony sim set on easy, or vice-versa.

The main menu of the game 8) the GUI/Logo aren't final yet, but I like them. It was fun to see the characters being drawn by another artist (I used another artist for the main menu image).

Looks nice... kind of reminds me of the early XCom games?
