I am generally not one for dark/scary/horror stuff but I felt like I could actually handle the stuff in Nicole including the girls disappearing completely. I feel like the mystery/thriller tone will now be drastically decreased (for the mystery mode) since there will not be as much of a fear or struggle element for Nicole when it comes to the mystery. Yes, it would be scary to disappear for three days and then not have a clue what happened to you, however, how does that propel Nicole to solve the mystery so that she herself does not temporarily disappear? In some of the mystery videos posted, one of Nicole's concern was that she might be next and then the culprit told her that she would be next. I somehow don't see Nicole being threatened as much by the notion of disappearing for 3 days and then having amnesia compare to disappearing and never being found again. Even if you have amnesia and it will be tough to regain your memories or your life back, I could easily see Nicole slowly but eventually returning to 'normal' or not being devastated for the rest of her life.

This is just my two cents but I think the girls should disappear completely. However, I think as Nicole get closer to solving the mystery that she should discover them or what happened to them one by one. That way you could still use the amnesia aspect but it will give Nicole something to work on while also discovering clues. She could spend time with the victims and help them regain their memories which will give her more insight into the crime and the culprit (if when she discovers them that they are still alive). One victim can eventually led to next and then eventually to the culprit with the help of all the clues that Nicole has gather throughout the game. Again, just my two cents. I rather have the game sooner than later and toning down the dark/scary/horror stuff might help you finish it sooner since it might be less work.

I would be nice though if you do another mystery like Nicole to maybe have 3 modes instead of 2: normal otome, mild mystery, and scare your pants off mystery/thriller   . I'm not into that stuff but I would definitely play all modes since you and company do such a great work. I would be scared but I know that I would also be enjoying myself with the artwork, writing, story, music, gameplay, etc.

Yeah because waking yourself up in a public place without remembering anything that happened you in the last 3 days is a normal thing to experience, nothing to fear about it!
Sorry, but while of course is not as tragic as disappearing completely, is not like someone couldn't be OK and not have fear of that!!
Disappearing completely very likely means they were dead (or held captive), and it was totally clashing with the romancing part of the game which (as you can see if you played the demo) is rather relaxed with many moments of funny dialogues. I still think it was the right move for this game setting/theme/atmosphere.

First and foremost, I did play the demo which was how I was able to provide you with typos and earlier feedback.
Second, I accidently posted that response before I finished typing it and was editing it while you were responding to a barely finished response.
Third, if there are two modes (normal otome and mystery) does that mean that the second mode, the mystery mode, is the normal mode but with some splashes of mystery? The demo basically just showed the otome mode with the ability to gather clues, but since the mystery parts were not included, one could only imagine what kind of mystery you were thinking of based on the in-game descriptions and videos posted on your blog.

I love your games so whatever you feel is right for the game is right for the game. You are the one making it not us, the consumers. Whether we give feedback about something or not, does not matter because ultimately the only one who decides how the game will be is you.

Heh since you changed the previous post now is more clear what you mean, apologize if I seemed a bit too blunt

Well aren't different modes, I explained it badly probably - I mean that you can play the game normally, IGNORING the mystery, so the mystery scenes never appears (including the scary videos I posted). There has been those disappearances, but Nicole doesn't get threatened unless you start investigating first.
So it's not like two very different game modes, but only the extra mystery scenes only. And if they were more scary than they are now, it really would clash with the rest of the game settings, I think.

About this:

I'm thinking to do a very scary game, but I think it should be conceived like that from the start. Not saying that there must not be humor or jokes (there are even in very good thriller stories) but the general setting/writing (and probably also the artwork) should be different. Maybe I could do a story about a zombie holocaust, could be fun to mix survival with romance

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but you make it sound like what happened to the victims was so traumatic that they blocked it out of their mind, or was that what you were going for?

Well I don't know, you should ask the writer :) He didn't send me the final scenes yet, on which I suppose the culprit will talk about his reasons...

Haha, if you're curious, you'll just have to wait and play the game to see. Writing's all done, so I just have to go over it and send it off.
