in the 0.8.9, the jeff normal ending doesn't work, nor does the special one.
i've had 999 wits and 999 clues and, uhm, about 143 zeal, 124 diligence, 104 amity

No it works, very likely you ran out of time. See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3081
you need to unlock all scenes in time before the end of semester. Is not just about getting the right stats at the end of the story
