Another "I cant acess the website and need help" Thread

Post by BR4ZIL »

First of all, hello Winterwolf forum citizens! I know i am very new here but i ask for help.

As much as i regret saying, When i first heard about Loren the Amazon Princess on Steam, i decide i would check it out before buying, silly me decided to download it off torrent before checking if an actual demo version existed (as i found out way later) and so i ended up using the cracked version and all.

Game ran fine, played a bit of the game, ran into my first combat, talked to some people and fell in love with the game, thus decided i would buy it. It was then that i discovered that the crack for the pirated version messed up the IP/Adress correlation with Winterwolves.com and now i cant acess the site anymore!

I know talking like that may seem a bit blunt, but i hope someone can appreciate my honesty and help me, i am very much interested in buying not only Loren the Amazon Princess (the non censored edition, since steam's seems to be censored) but other games made by them, if they are all in the same style as Loren.

Thanks in advance, althought i am sure some of you think i probably deserve what i got.

I don't understand one thing - to check the game, the demo was already LONG enough, so there was no need to download the torrent
Anyway, unfortunately I don't know how to fix that (I'm not an expert hacker). Maybe some antivirus, or using a restore point ? no clue, sorry.
Also remember that since they change your DNS, they can also redirect you to a fake paypal website or steal your CC info. I would recommend to fix it ASAP to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Well, as of late rarely a demo for a game even launches and since Loren's isnt on steam, i only found out about it way too late.

Not thats any excuse, but thats why. From what you said the demo is probably longer than what i played.

There was a similar topic to mine somwhere and one guy said he knew how to fix it, but he used PM, i just hope he sees my post :(

Currently i am looking around the registry for something related, but no dice so far.

35 USD? Wow, Whats exactly the diference between this one and Steam's? Because 35 USD converts to 85 BRL (my currency) while Steam's is directly 39.99 BRL, including the DLC (thus less than 20 USD in retrospect).

Is the higher price because of the Steam's censored version? If so is there alot of content missing or any additional features not present in Steam's?

On Steam discussions some people, including a developer, mentioned you can uncensor it by downloading the demo version while already having bought Steam's. Now i am very confused about the price :?

Meanwhile, tried running both my anti virus and anti malware software, no dice yet :(

EDIT, finnaly managed to fix the issue, had to tincker with the host file in system32 folder, but i can acess the page now! Just need to gather info on whats the diference between the 2 Loren versions before i make the decision on which one i should buy. Thanks for the support anyway, a post like mine would have be flamed to death if this was any normal forum! :)

I am unfortunately in the same boat. A friend sent me "a really cool new game she found". It was Nicole, and I had no idea what a howler was (except from Harry Potter) but the instructions said to run it and since I knew my friend had played the game, I was sure it was fine. Everything worked great 'til I hit the end of the demo, and excitedly tried to click to purchase since I had finally gotten to where the part time jobs should unlock... and all it takes me to is a blank page. So I figure I'd just go to the site and get it there. And more blank pages. Except it works on everyone else's computer just fine. I uninstalled the bad demo, and flushed everything but no dice. I really really want to buy Nicole. Can anyone help, please?
