Re: Happy endings!
I don't mind working for a happy ending either :D (Which the Loren Expansion actually did).
I admit, I hope Roommates does well enough, that we may also see an expansion down the road. Roxanne, Carmen, even Marvin (or Chad
) could be interesting additions :D

At least with Roommates 0.8.4, If you get the stat sum >600, you get
Which almost counts as a good ending, I would think.

Re: Happy endings!
Heh, I've just made note that for the 'great' ending I need to get above 600's
And without a spoiler, I would count that as an awesome ending Lonestar51
Of course, you should also do the endings that work best Jack1974. While I tend to be among those who like a 'good ending' I also have no problem with a bittersweet ending (like the original Loren/Elenor, or Loren pre-N'mar Expansino).

Re: Happy endings!
I always buy WW games full price without checking on things like this, because I want to support a developer that is so supporting of LGBT characters in games.
However I have to agree with Maelora that it has gotten to the point where it is practically all of them with very few exceptions, which is actually a large trope in homosexual romance stories, not just yours Jack.
Gayngst is a Pet Peeve Trope of many due to the fact that while it usually portrays gay people sympathetically and addresses an issue many gay people in Real Life go through, it can be interpreted as saying that it's impossible to be gay without being miserable, or that gay people don't deserve Happy Endings, or at its very worst and most ineptly-handled, homosexual relationships are innately disastrous. Gayngst is often found in the Boys Love and Girls Love works for obvious reasons. Doesn't come up quite as often in works with a Cast Full of Gay — even if a couple of characters are of the angsty persuasion, they're usually balanced out by the rest of the cast in such a way that the Unfortunate Implications are done away with.
If the story wants an uplifting tone, the character will eventually come to terms with their sexuality, have the obligatory Coming-Out Story, and live Happily Ever After with their love interest, It's this part that irks me as it rare for a lesbain/gay relationship to ever get to ride off into the sunset, even in big budget games like the Mass Effect series that hinted at a happy ending at the end of ME2 with it's dialog of "old age and lots of little blue children" but instead went for the bittersweet hero's death.

And it is certainly to Jack1974's credit that he recognizes this trend. I know I haven't been a fan as long as others of you here, but from what I've seen of older games, and from reading previous posts, there is consistent improvement. And this willingness to change has garnered me (or my GF) purchasing all his games :DSylrissa wrote: However I have to agree with Maelora that it has gotten to the point where it is practically all of them with very few exceptions, which is actually a large trope in homosexual romance stories, not just yours Jack..
For that matter, Jack1974 even promised on his twitter feed:
Slight change:most of the recent GxG romances in my games have a sad/bittersweet ending. This conspiracy must end! I promise happy yuri endings in future!
Also read some interesting news about Nicole Yuri there as well :D

Re: Happy endings!
Ah wait!!! I was so busy checking the bugs in past days that indeed I missed the fact that Maelora probably got the "not happy ending" for Anne/Isabella!
This is the happy ending (stats combo >=600):
this is DEFINITELY a happy ending! Isabella and Anne living together in Mexico?
The other points made by Maelora stands but in this specific case, there is an happy ending, is probably just a bit hard to get (if you play in Easy mode though you should get it).

Yes thanks to feedback from both this community and his collaborators like Aleema, he has shown constant improvement from game to game, so you're spot on there Miakoda!Miakoda wrote:but from what I've seen of older games, and from reading previous posts, there is consistent improvement. My post was more of some general interesting food for thought for you to think about Jack, in case you're not aware of just how common this happens in homosexual romance, where the end result is flings, breakups, or even tragic deaths.jack1974 wrote:

It is of course acceptable for it to be as hard you want to make it, just as long as it ACTUALLY exists!.

Re: Happy endings!
Oh gods, there's a hidden happy ending?>?>?
#sooooo embarrassed now!!#
I didn't think to raise my stats that high, as I'd assumed 300/200 would do it...!
Yeah, Anne going south of the border and hooking up with her again would be a fantastic ending.

Re: Happy endings!
Don't be embarressed Maelora!, even if it turns out to be wrong for this game, since there is a happy ending for them. You still brought up a very good point outside this situation and got me back to thinking on this topic a lot.Maelora wrote:Oh gods, there's a hidden happy ending?>?>?
