Much of the USA is getting an 'Arctic cold blast'. It is unusual where I live to get any accumulation of snow, but this morning I awakened to 1/4 inch of the white stuff. Fortunately we did not get any freezing rain, so there is no ice on the roads.
The temperatures are supposed to stay below freezing until sometime Wednesday.
I hope everybody stays safe and warm.

Yes I heard that! Here is very cold as well, but not really unusual in this period!

Today it is sunny and 73 degrees F (big change from two weeks ago).

It's been two weeks of sun and temperatures DEFINITELY higher than average here. I still see some snow in the mountain tops nearby, but not as much as it used to be. They have forecast snow next week though, we'll see... :o

Here in the USA, we have a 'tradition' that if a ground hog (actually a large rodent) fails to see it shadow on February 2 winter will end early.
Do you have anything like that where you live?

Yes, I think we have something like that too early in February, but I don't remember exactly how it works. I think if it's sunny, then it's just the beginning of Winter, while if it's bad weather Winter should end soon. Something like that :D

Jack,
Here in the USA April 1st is 'celebrated as April Fools Day, a day for jokes and pranks. Is there a April Fools Day in Italy?

Jack,
Did you see the Northern Lights over the weekend, or are you like me (too far south)?
Very respectfully,
fleetp
