Quick Krimm, throw Jariel to distract the wolves!

Well, they say that "music soothes the beasts", right? So Jariel could just play a really nice song, and the wolfs would... Sleep?
(That's until the goblins get angry and woke them up, so, no such luck, I guess...)

No no, you wait for the goblin thieves to steal a goblin each, and then it's just one goblin and three doggies left.

What are the numbers on the lower left corner of the characters?

Is one of the permanent conditions of that battlefield (lowers cold resistance, even if in that case it was wrong since the BG is the arena but was just a test).
The battlefield conditions in practice set a permanent (well 99 turns but I doubt any battle would last longer!

) condition on all the enemies and allies

Also, this is tomorrow (screenshotsaturday) tumblr image but you'll see here first:

trying to do the SOTW maps as tilesets. Which means much bigger maps! they won't scroll but you can click on the edges to move. A bit like Puzzle Quests maps. But since is a tileset I can add new ones without the need to ask the artist every time.
The map above is the first one, the small hut is the siblings hut

Of course will add some text labels to explain better what each thing is since is a bit hard to guess right now

Looking at this makes me imagine playing a tactical RPG ala fire emblem but set in the Aravorn world :D
Maybe one day, a girl can dream can't she

Well is only a map that you click to move to a specific location

at LEAST FOR NOW! who knows what will happen in 3-4 years!

Is there no way to set the counter to infinite? It's not a big deal or anything, but I was wondering if it's simply a limitation of the game's engine or something.
Also, I am surprised that you decided to use a tilemap at all, especially given the fact the scope of the game was originally going to be small.

I would love a tactical RPG too. The use of space opens up more possibilities like adding range and movement to combat.

Would be easy to add an infinite mode but really not worth it (should mark those status condition so that the counter is never decreased). Maybe will just remove the 99 counter since seems a bit silly
The tilemap is only a replacement of the normal world map - is not like there's pathfinding or anything else. I am even thinking if to just use the maps I made as single images to speed up things. In practice instead of asking the artist to make several maps I can make them myself, so if I want to add some last-minute thing I don't need to ask him changes. In summary a shortcut to make things faster with same quality
Tactical RPGs are great, maybe one day will be able to make one!
