I think there should be some jealousy scenes between the romances. As you said, both characters misunderstanding your interest in them as love, and in the confrontation scene between the two romances, both accuse each other of misunderstanding the player intentions, and declare that they are the loved one.

Example:

Chalassa: Althea loves me! You are delusional if you think she would give any attention to some weirdo like yourself!
Jariel: Are you saying I'm weird? I will tell what is weird! You are completely obsessed with her! She's polite with you and you automatic thinks this is some kind of attraction? Don't be ridiculous, she would never fall for a Blood murderer like you!
Althea:Uh, guys?

... And so, the player chooses the romance she/he would like to pursue.

I think the jealousy scene would be way more dramatic and personal than those in Loren. I kept the entire Loren game waiting for some scene like that between Loren and Rei, or Chambara even, but that never happened(The jealousy scene between Loren and Karen actually didn't seemed like a jealous scene, it was more in the lines of "mommy, why don't you love meeeee" than "Elenor is mine!", so I don't count that as a jealous scene, since it wasn't about Elenor, but other issues), and I think that's because of the quantity of romances in that game. In Seasons of the Wolf, the romances would be limited, so those characters could be even better, more interesting and profound. So, that's my two cents on this.

I love the idea of a jealous and overprotective sibling. "What is your intention with ...?" "You never hang out with me anymore your always with ..." If you hurt ... I will hunt you down" You get my point.

Cool, I'll make sure to tell the writer when he can resume writing to check this thread :)

If your writer can fit it in a way that works, then I'm all for it, but don't force it.

rivalry / jealousy can be fun like aleema said. but it is always tricky to get the right mood. Otherwise it gets a "constructed" feeling. so it is definately a challenge to the writer that can be a great boon for the gamers if done right :)

we believe in your writers jack ;-) set aleema on his trail so he does his stuff right ^^

Haha Aleema is already very busy with PS2! But I'll surely ask her opinion about the romances since she's very good at them. Also since is set in same Loren's world she could spot consistency problems (like with the dark magic teleportation thing).

I believe Aleema is a she, but I agree with your general points, just had to correct that

I really like the fact that both siblings are a part of the story, no matter which you choose. I hope future games might consider this! It was such a let down in something like Dragon Age 2, they threw away the family too easily.

I'm REALLY happy that none of the characters are bi, and they each have a unique romance. Everyone has options, both sexualities are covered equally.

I am gonna LOVE this game.

There's an easy solution to that, make Rowinda a bi romance option.

Yes, I think family relationship are cool in RPG games like this and should be explored more :)

After the "bisex party" of Loren 2 I wanted to have a bit more "conventional romances" (maybe not the right word but you understood what I mean).

Yes the "Mad Love DLC"!
