Good news for RPG fans: because Nicole writer/artist are being slow I worked more on the RPG:

finished the vendor screen and the battle setup screen as well! I CAN NOW BEGIN ACTUALLY CODING THE GAME! :o
As you can notice I added two interesting things:
- turn limit: I know some people will hate me for this, but... to simulate the "urge" of some battles, I put a turn limit to win the battle. Obviously, in Easy mode it would be still easy
- battlefield conditions: now some battlefield will have a big effect on the battle. like a cold climate, cold spells/attacks will do more damage, and so on.
If the other dating sim games keep slowing down, means I'll have more free time to work on this game (though I'd really like to get Nicole out). But I suspect many RPG fan won't be disappointed by that

"minimum party members: 2" yet "must be in party: Althea, Shea, Vealis"?

Just being my usual self...

I suppose the turn limit is your revenge  In Loren, in some of the tougher fights (lots of healers etc.) the only way to win was simply lasting longer - using potions to top up HP/SP. Once the enemies SP were used up, the rest was easy.

The battlefield effects may make things interesting. Now there will be three factors to consider: which magic schools (e.g. fireballs, water attacks) I picked for the party, which elements (attack types) the enemy has a resistance for, and what the battlefield favors. Will the hot environments have more than usual heat-resistant creatures? (sounds logical, somehow... )

The must be in party can changes much more often than the minimum party members, is only related to this specific battle :)
I'll have to be careful with this turn limit thing, since I think could piss off many people. So will be mostly used for short battles than long ones (it would be bad to be close to winning and run out of time...!).
The "battlefield modifier" is interesting indeed, I plan to have other effects beside the elemental ones, like for example "Fog" that increases everyone defense (in practice making everyone harder to hit) and so on. Should be fun 8)

How do you define a turn for a turn limit since some characters can attack five times in the time another character attacks twice?

Unless I'm mistaken (but Anima can correct me) in the engine there's still the concept of "turns", it's just never shown to the user. Here a turn is a "unit of time", more than "every time a character moves". But if that's not the case I can just remove it, I'm still experimenting :)

writer is finishing the last scenes of the Spring season, which ends with a big tournament in the Dingirra's Arena (won't say more because... spoilers!). It will be interesting for me to code, since there'll be some kind of rankings and many battles to do. Should be a fun minigame in the game itself! 8)

When I googled "Seasons of the Wolf" first entry was a Floridan metal band. I hope this won't cause any copyright issues. ;)

No, already talked about it in forums in the past. There's no copyright clash since I'm not making metal music with that name
(there are also several cases of games or movies with similar names. you can't copyright a name, to get in trouble you should really try to impersonate another brand)

That gladiator on the right looks a lot like a the usual kids that went to school with me. No teeth-check, dressed like a lunatic-check, carried a net so the security could take him to prison-umm...check, robust build-no check. So 3 out of 4 is close enough.

Today started coding the actual game story! There are still some things left to do in the interface, but overall I'm at good point.
Ironically, I might change the game name in the end  because I am going to have a theme song for the game, and in this case could be conflicting with that band name (not a copyright issue but more about making confusion). Anyway for now will still call this SOTW :)
