Your thoughts about the map system

I'd like to know, apart for performance problems, if the addition of the map was something you liked or not? did it make any difference in the gameplay, freedom of movement? or a map like Loren's was fine too? Since I invested some time and resource on this I want some feedback for future games, if I should keep this or is not so essential

Yes I like it, it feels a bit more like actually being there rather than pointing at a large world map to where you want the party to go.

I love, LOVE the map. ALMOST AS MUCH AS I LOVE ALTHEA.

I like the map. It gives this game its own identity. I'm not sure I want to see the exact same thing in other games, but I hope it's used throughout this one.

It fits in well with the game and I like its approach.

I like the map much better. It gives an illusion of your characters exploring the location as opposed to just relying too heavily on menus.

I like the map very much. :) Visually it's very pretty, and along the lines of what Jaeger said above, it really helps with the immersion into the twins' story.

What slows the player down with it, though, is the fact that all non-fight locations are showing up green, even if you have no business going in there. This led to some frustrating clicking back and forth when I played the game a few times in the beginning. What if the arrows to non-combat places, stores and such, would either
-show up in yellow if one can't go in there at the moment or
-the mouseover would note if the place isn't open for the player just then.
Exploring is fun and trying to click everything possible has its charm  but only to a point. When having to click to get through a lot of menus, inventories, etc, any pointless clicking after that can start to feel frustrating.

'tis a fair point. In particular there seems to be no point during the entire first season where you can do anything with Vaelis' house.

Yes probably I could just not display them at all if you can't go there (Vaelis house is a good example). For now I'll leave as it is, when I start coding the second act will remember it though :)
