Ok, I understand possible dangers later on ... so I created a new party.

There is one point where the interface might be streamlined: After selecting the skill, the game should move on to the next screen. As it is now it is confusing for new players ("Should I get more skills?"), and just an unnecessary click for everyone. (Or rather, one click per sibling...)

Though I will say that possible crashes may be more important than this...

Too easy this time. Pretty much all boss fights in the first chapter with the exception of the Necromancer. That's deliciously brutal, thanks to the opening soulrot salvo.

But also the random encounters were easy? I mean, I could safely increase the overall difficulty for Nightmare (changing Attack/Defense mostly, don't want to touch Speed) ?

Probably. Though adjusting health and defence up would be the first step. The big bad bear and her majesty the glorious arachnea had both less than 200 HP.

Yes, managed to add this just now :)

The very first fight (prelude in the Arena) is significantly easier in 0.8 compared to 0.79 - normally the brothers were in the mid-30 HP region, now they have 17 HP each (both with normal as difficulty)

Okay if we're talking difficulty here. Yes too easy. I am pretty sure monsters had less health than they had against my zero constitution party while stat derivation was still around.

Hunters can kill anything in the backrow with a normal shot, and 75% the things in the frontrow with an aimed shot, with the default weapon.

Took some bossfight notes.
Spider: 2 normal attacks and 1 aimed shot killed it
Kodiak: This guy was much tougher! THREE normal attacks and an aimed shot :)
Mormont: I engaged with a party more dead than his army and won, a normal shot killed the necromancer

Note I believe I even did these three with the starting equipment.

I also wrote down "ratmen easy" and "goblins pushover" (the waves at the fortress) so I'm sure I felt that about fighting them though I don't recall the details. But hunter oneshotting the cleric and the mage for sure.

At some point I just doubleclicked my way through random encounters, they became that easy.

And yes I guess there's nothing off with the xp gain, I was just unused to sailing through the encounters like that, especially as ranger/hunter. I didn't actually get every piece of xp I could get though, but after level 3 or so nothing was denied to me.

If at first try it doesn't explode, it ain't Jack who wrote the code.

Does the night fight with goblins on the way to Ninim to fetch Shagala always give 40+ gold? I only now noticed that after selling the pelts, one can go and spend all the money at the Forge (woot!) Which is kind of funny, since Morran asks about how much the twins earned and I had them literally returning home with just 4 gold left and everybody were all smiles... Anyway, if the aforementioned fight does not give that 35 gold, is it possible to run into trouble later, when one is supposed to pay 35 for the herbs? I've gotten around 40 gold from the fight a couple of times now, but I'm currently playing v0.8 in EASY-mode, as beating v0.79 in NM with hunter and ranger did mah head in
