Not sure if someone reported this already but the Willpower, Archwizard and Elementalist traits require only Arcane 3 in order to select them. I'm pretty sure you need Arcane 30 since that's the pre-reqs of the other traits.

Haha that's a mistake, we were testing the traits quickly so subtracted a zero. The right value is 30 obviously, will fix this on next update!

Are you supposed to be able to repick starting traits? Shea gets the wooly snake one, but if I scroll the text back just right I can get the Enchanter's wagon trait. Scrolling back to Althea will return Shea to the snake.

Also, if Double Attack is only supposed to work on the front row, it should say so in the skill description.

Also also, the bug where the combat tutorial window jumps to a different spot every time you click "Continue" is still there - after last checking in 0.7.7. :p

Couple more bugs I'm noticing:

The first day is still Hibernia 21, but when dad gets sick it suddenly jumps to Hibernia 28.
A lot of mobs seem to have 0/1 stagger, on Nightmare anyway (like the first Ratmen encounter, spiders, bandits, wolves). Oops? Maybe this is why the fights are easier. ;)
Note: The spider and kodiak bosses have a more normal 0/37 stagger, so not all mobs.

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers ;)

I'm quite sure I downloaded 0.8.5 yesterday afresh and deleted all other sotw directories, but will check it later at home.

Three more bugs:

1. On the party menu (via escape): select a slot as if you're going to change gear. Change tabs instead (click "attributes"/"skills"). Change back to "Inventory". The party inventory is hidden until you re-select an equipment slot and then close it.
2. If Vaelis' twin axes' bleed damage kills an enemy, he doesn't get the bonus exp credit. I assume this is the same for burning, frozen, etc. too. I want my 1 XP. :(
3. Vaelis tells me about the tavern job board in Chapter 3, when he's not actually in the party. (I guess he's hanging out at the bar?)

(Minor) Defeating the Kodiak let one of my characters level up, but the dialog that went on didn't allow me to allocate my points. This may not be a big deal though because when you turn in the quest and get EXP, I think you get another chance. At least I did, but my other two characters leveled up.

Mormont is another mob with 0/1 stagger on Nightmare. I thought the bear fight was adequate. Spider was OK too, though bear was slightly tougher (more HP and I couldn't stagger either boss), Mormont was kind of easy but maybe because of the stagger bug. It would be nice if Twin Axes did bleed damage to bosses; I don't think it is.

Is Aimed Shot (the super normal bow shot) bugged? I can either Ranged Attack for 29-34 with delay 8 or Aimed Shot for 32-37 with delay 14. That doesn't look like 150%. Also, on the Ratmen training fight, if I'm quick enough on my mouseover, I can get it to say 37-42 normal and 40-47 aimed before it drops to the lower numbers. This your secret 30% damage reduction at work?

Okay, I tried it here. I used 0.8.5 (md5sum of the archive: 22b661fbc00b12807cff9ecc8ebeb82e) and started a new game with normal difficulty.

Two exemplary fights:

Code: Select all

Dmg AoE Dmg Sng Dmg AoE Dmg Sng
Ratman Thief 16-19 16-19
Ratman Thief 16-19 16-19 Ratman Cleric 13-16 17-20
Ratmen Thief 16-19 16-19

Dmg AoE Dmg Sng Dmg AoE Dmg Sng
Grey Wolf 20-23 27-31
Snow Spider 20-23 26-31
Grey Wolf 20-23 26-31
Not exactly identical values for AoE and Single, but not the 200 % difference I expect.

Another small issue: It is possible to start with all characters in the back row, only after the first action the position is switched to front row. It's a funny effect (fast enemies with only melee attacks cannot do anything harmful) - no idea if this is intended or a bug.

That is the rollback, but if you try again, it won't change (will always show the same trait). For now I'm going to leave as it is for testing, in final version might prevent it.
Troyen wrote:The first day is still Hibernia 21, but when dad gets sick it suddenly jumps to Hibernia 28.
Ah forgot about this one, will fix (the bug is in the amount of days increased, not the starting one. So now after Morran gets sick shows day 22).

Haha true! They should have low resistance but not SO LOW. It was a global problem, so I've raised the minimum stagger :)

Oops, will fix!

I'll need Anima expertise on this, but should be possible

Strange that happened, but anyway the level up screen was redone to fix the problem with the HP +10% trait, so maybe on next update will be fixed also this issue.

Yes that will be fixed. Also the bleeding to bosses, since you can hit frontline anyway.

I get different number displayed too though not sure why exactly. But on next update the 30% reduction will be an actual effect so should be solved. Also here I see the right amount for aimed but probably was another issue that I fixed. Let me know if in 0.8.6 still shows up once I upload it!

_renke: if you can send me that savegame where you get those values would be cool. I think is something I already fixed here but want to be sure :)

As for the characters all in backrow, well yes if the player want to do it. Is not really a bug I think, more a funny thing

I got the tent in the snow tile, so I'm waiting to implement that too for next update, probably later today (about 6-7h from now).

I finally beat the game - with a totally decked out hunter/ranger party. Where do you want my savefile sent?

Felt like the ranged archers all had low hp, especially in the end boss (only 37-40 HP) compared to the 100+ of the front row. Anyway, I probably would've survived even without the +15% HP/SP bonus between waves (heh, turn it off for nightmare? :) ), but the extra skill uses were handy.
