It was not easymode before I got Vaelis though. If you buff the goblin blockade I don't know that I can kill it.

In fact, I think that encounter has been consistently difficult throughout all builds.

Yes, indeed I was testing a tougher build in Nightmare and was impossible, Goblin Scout using Poison Dagger killed my HUnter in 2 hits
I've made that specific battle easier now, since it happens early in the story!
I'm still tweaking, retesting a bit the boss encounters, but Planet Stronghold went live on Steam so probably will be busy doing support

Alright, now I definitely have 8 quests marked as 'Success' in my logbook, but the counter on the top of the screen shows 7/8. I noticed that as the polar bear hunt is completed, there's no notification popping up on the bottom of the screen like there is with the other quests. It only gives the sound and the "Quest completed" note in the middle of the screen, but nothing after that at the bottom, where it usually notes "Quest complete" and "Fame increased".

Is that new? My 0.7.7 save has the twins at 1265/1700 (Level 5) at the beginning of Chapter 3. I don't remember how much the goblin camp gave, but I don't think I leveled. Just have to be lucky on the traps in Chapter 1. I probably would have even more XP if I had fought off the ratmen instead of talking to them.
jack wrote: As for the skill, either I give the player the choice, or I assign a predefined skill. I think that putting a text "is recommended you learn healing skills" should be enough. Otherwise the only other solution is to eliminate the choice because once a skill is learned is problematic to "unlearn" it, and I don't want to spend too much time on that since is just a small thing happening at the beginning, after 5min of play you can already level up just following the main plot, so...
I think you misread my comment. I was talking about when I specifically pick "Auto-Assign" it should probably give a useful skill at level 1 instead of random. Or at least random from a small set of useful skills for the opening chapter.

Ah thanks going to look then!

Not a new issue, but so far not mentioned (imho) - you should check if the selected character is actual a party member, seems to be caused by overenthusiastic caching :) The attribute/skills/inventory et al pages are opened with the last chosen char, even if the one isn't currently available: screen shot

Ah thanks, missed that one :)
I've uploaded 0.8.1, I fixed some bugs but mostly tweaked the difficulty. I think now is more challenging, but let me know you Nightmare players if you think I could make it even a bit more harder. I'm going to do small changes at time now, don't want to change too much. The best would be to keep saves just before the big battles and try them after each update

The first goblin fight in 0.82 is impossible with my party. They one shot my druid and my Ranger can't survive that fight alone. You probably need to reduce their speed by quite a bit and the attack or damage for the ranged goblins.
Actually managed to beat it. Got lucky with the speed variance and got both archers slower then my druid. That was enough for Althea to kill the rest. So reducing the speed sounds like a good idea. It probably also demonstrates that the variance is too high for the speed stat.

Nah I was just steamrolling stuff so it felt like really fast levels, but in the end I didn't get higher than 6.

Also... don't know if you fixed in these last two builds but. Althea always has her surprised expression when talking to the ratmen. I mean when approaching them to train/trade. Looks a bit odd.

Thieves seem to get the distance-based damage reduction from anything at all in the front row. Observed in case: druid vs. ratmen.
