Going back to two goblin scouts then?

From a story perspective, it's more intimidating to see three mobs than two, otherwise it'd just be a rehash of the first fight.
Yes I'm loading my old save to test. I did zero grind with that one, so if I manage to beat it I think should be fine

Also, is anyone else wishing the "Learn Skill" and "Auto-Assign" buttons were swapped? I feel like I have to go to a remote corner of the screen to select a skill and then back if I'm selecting two skills and I subconsciously assume the closer button is the "select this one" option.
I do!

however I'm not sure how to do it. Maybe move the auto assign on top? Or have them close to each other but same y coordinate?

One scout is still enough to oneshot a level one druid unless you went heavy con in which case you might live to die to the poison instead

But if they have to two-shot the druid the hunter/ranger might just (with the right set up) be able to kill goblins fast enough to win the fight.
I do admit I wish I could figure out how their targeting works, because sometimes if I chance positions in the battle set up they target both of my characters in which case I could almost beat them without party that didn't abuse the traps.

For those of us who are not trying to be hardcore, the game has become considerably more challenging just playing on Normal. Checking traps before heading to town at the very beginning of the game, and getting 2 battle encounters is the same for me as clicking a "Game Over" button. I'm not sure I mind, but it does seem pretty brutal when you're just starting the game and aren't trying to exploit stats / specific skills with very specific knowledge of how the game works.

Yes is because the level scaling wasn't working. Both "up" and "down". A difference of -2 levels wasn't making the enemies weaker as intended, so that's why the early battles are tougher in normal too! I'm fixing this on next update

Sorry about the slowness on the next update but I'm having tons of troubles with the beginning traits. I had to summon the power of Anima to help me with the coding

OK I put the 0.8.3 up so at least people playing will get the right difficulty. The HP/SPRegen traits still don't work correctly, but I am a bit burned so thought was better to not wait the next update just for one bug. Will still try to solve it of course, or replace with something else

oh, how sad. I totally loved the "what the fuck just happened?!?" effect.

First 0.8.3 impressions (Druid and Ranger on normal): I like the pacing. First I thought the difficulty is a little bit on the easy side, but this was mostly the +5 strength boost my ranger got as birthday present and was only noticeable in the first few fights.
I was especially fond of the necromancer: I was forced to rethink my approach two times or so, but I had never the feeling this would be an impossible job; after fully healing and repositioning my troupe solved the task gracefully - I think the sweet spot for a normal game-play (not able to rush through the game without thinking, but simultaneously never frustating) is not far away or even reached [from my PoV ;)].
I'm still in the first phase of the game and solved nearly all quests (Polar Bear is missing) but I don't see this as a great problem: I still will be able to check many traps and smoke out the bandits cave a couple of times more.
Small bug (I think): Is the damage calculation of Strike Through correct? The 75 % base damage of Wide Slash are consistently higher than the "critically" frontline hit of Strike Through.

Ugh I had 0.5 instead of 1.5 in the power value! so basically Strikethrough does 1/3 of the intended damage
