One special point: I try to return to the arena, as my party is exhausted (most are low HP, and all near zero SP). The sequence is about like this:
- the master of the pits filches my money
- Shea asks why go back, we have not seen much of the town yet (background is city, not arena)
- The party is back outside, still in no shape for anything
- going back to the arena just costs more money.
Result: me=frustrated

I didn't even try to go back to the arena before delivering the 4 letters - I know Jack's twisted humour ;)

The only way the regenerate in the city are the pubs (at least those are the only places I found - rather expensive, though)

Restarted the game to make sure it all flowed well and found random bug when checking traps, occasionally there wouldn't be a text screen and it would go straight to the battle prep.
When talking to the mercenary for the memory crystal if you choose to buy it off him you see the conversation for buying the crystal then immediately followed by the conversation for killing him.
When you first get a new character the very first map screen you see has their portrait greyed out. Changing areas fixes this.

Uhm no, here is not like this. Random battle against Giant/Infected Rats:
Defense 46 = 26-33 dmg
Defense 39 = 31-33 dmg
and so on. I don't understand why you're getting same damage in ranged/aimed shot :o

My computer isn't a NASA machine but it should handle your game fine if I can play WoW and record a 25 man raid at full resolution and 30 FPS. My software hasn't checked for updates for 3 months I just noticed now, and while I doubt that I need newer drivers to solve this, the fact it doesn't complete an update check when I request one (normally it should even do them daily and automatically) makes me think something is wrong with it.
I'm sure is something like that since another user playing Loren last week had issues, then discovered that a NEW version of the driver had a bug, so he reverted back to old version and worked :)

Lonestar, you need to go in a tavern (there's one just near the Arena) to refill the HP/SP. I think your problem though is that you have very low gear, I playtested all the second act with a save from someone in Nightmare mode, but then I switched in Normal and basically never lost a battle, never reloaded. So yes, differently from Loren in this game your equipment matters a lot. I remember a reviewer major critique to Loren was that changing equipment had very little impact (indeed it was).

For sure the difficulty is overall higher - but if you get good equipment, take breaks to rest in the tavern, buy potions, you should be able to survive. Also if you played using an old save there's good chance that your party is a bit underpowered.

Ah fixed it. Old bug :)

Going to check!

It was intentional to show the characters available but not in current party. Though considering you always have to choose your party before battles is probably a bit pointless

You might not believe it but the master of the pits tribute is the writer's fault! I think it fits the character though!

Yes, I can change this though. I don't want to make the normal difficulty too hard, though of course I also want to hear comments on the difficulty from more people before doing changes.

I am OK with paying the tribute. Well, a grumbling kind of OK, but still... However, I find it horrible that first I go in, deliver the tribute, and THEN Shea decides to go back outside and I am NOT HEALED.

Why are the sewers a hot battle area? imho wet or earth would be more fitting.

And I don't think the taverns are too expensive - as we see armour for 1500+ gold some food for 100 is not that bad ;)

Ah OK, yes you should at least be at max health after you enter. I thought it was like that, will change it now :)

True, will put underground, since in act3 there'll be plenty of Water battle area!

Ninim was cheaper, but... DIngirra is a town with high cost of living!!
