So I've added it:
Image
I've lowered the minimum to 14, since you get new skills at 15,18,21,24,27,30 levels. Since level cap should be 25, I am expecting the progress to be:
ACT3 = level 14 to 20
ACT4 = level 20 to 25
this is not related much to the length of the acts but the fact that takes more XP to gain a new level as you level up (2000XP after level 20, and 3000XP for level 25).
And yeah I've already begun coding Act3! NO TIME TO LOSE! Like for act2 I have no tileset and still missing some art, but meanwhile I can code the battles :wink:

Is 25 a hard cap? Like if we get 25, it's impossible to get more xp? If so, does that mean that xp will spill over to <25 characters?
If at first try it doesn't explode, it ain't Jack who wrote the code.

BTW, Jack, beautiful job on Shacklesplit altogether. Really communicates that medi-medi feel (medievlal Mediterranean).

No I won't put a fixed cap in the code, but I'll balance (heh) the game so that shouldn't be possible to get there. If some characters get to 26 or even 27 is not a big deal. I was more thinking to avoid unlocking all skills. Another solution would be to delay the skillpoint assignation every 4-5 levels too. Could be after level 15, you get a skillpoint at 20,25,30. That's another option!

Ah, so only the lower-than-level-14 characters will be autoleveled to 14! I wasn't sure if you meant that at the beginning of Act 3, the player would have to choose to either continue what they had or scale all their characters to the "correct level", which would've meant in that one savefile of mine that Rowinda would've risen up to 14 and 5 of my other chars would've sunk down to 14 from 16 and 15. :P I've seen that in done other RPGs. It's infuriating. I was honestly glad to hear that there was a choice to not have to do that, but that the choice is only to better your levels, that's even better. :)

Pwetty background that is. I bet the tileset will be as topnotch-pwetty as the previous ones have been. :)

Stumbled upon another very minor typo: Riley: "This area belongs to the Kiduu family. Their family crest is a ivy leaf." Should be 'an ivy leaf."

Just for the record, Autoleveling sounds like something that should be exclusive to Easy Mode. Maybe Normal. Definitely not Hard or Nightmare. My nightmares don't include people handing me free XP.

Heh, fine with that, too, as long as the levels won't be forced to drop... well, that *would* be nightmarish.... :twisted:

somewhere here(tm) you wrote that all short cuts are disabled for the first visit as this lead to problems with the new location found trigger. You forgot one: Kiduu to Galanna is still there on the first visit ;)

addendum: also Galanna to Gamesh

and some nit-picking: Optional guard battles shouldn't be announced with "Mercs! And they are attacking!" (and similar) - I stepped on the field because it was my wish to rip them open and loot the cadavers ;)

Sorry if this has already been reported:

In 0.8.17 you can clone weapons or armor: For this you need to wear a (bad) item. Go into the shop, and check if there is another item with the same picture. (The same picture is necessary, added letters like F can be ignored.) Then you can either:
- Buy the item, choose "equip directly", and the item put into the inventory has the stats of the bought item, not the worn item. And you wear the bought item as well. Make sure you only buy good stuff ;-)
- Or buy the item into the inventory, and equip from the inventory (while in the shop). (For Bonus points, take an item cloned in above way...)

I am not sure if this happens as well outside a shop.
