I made the changes and tested, and Toughness is not overpowered now. As for the SP thing, don't forget that with the new AI I can have enemies using SP drain/reducing skills too... so having a good amount of SP is going to be important

The only thing I'm not sure is giving a trait at end of each ACT. The idea is fine but for some characters could be confusing, like Jariel - since in practice he arrives at end of ACT2, so should get a trait, and then immediately starts ACT3, so should get another one

However I think for now will do that, is probably enough to explain it well in the in-game help texts.

Does that mean we're getting a new build soon? I wanna try the new traits and executes
(and not waste 600 gold on recklessness)

Yes I wanted to wait to have the new tiles, but I've accumulated so many fixes that probably better to update

Still need to implement the "get new trait at end of act" thing though.

Hmm what if

you could just pick any traits using skillpoints as much as you want? Doing the end of act thing would break all saves compatibility (I would need to add an extra field to the character class). As they are now I don't think are overpowered, I mean even if someone picks all the traits, without the actual combat skills they cannot win the battles anyway (just using melee).
Plus I like the idea of giving total freedom. And there's the bonus that would be very easy to code on my part.

Thoughts?

Well if we have to buy them with skill points we'll have 3 less skill points than if we got them for free at the end of an act, so maybe you wanna look at skill point gain later, but other than that, shoot and let's see how it works

OK I really prefer this, since would make things MUCH easier on my side, and no need to restart the game again from beginning! Worse case can tweak the level cap to raise it, and/or tweak again the traits values to make them worth using a skillpoint on it. Personally I think as they're now they're already interesting enough to make people think about it

Okay so two birthday gifts I wanna talk about: Bonus HP/SP and bonus crit. I think +25 HP/SP is too strong, considering you can get +5 con or +5 will, each of which would give half. And if you're planning on getting more than 20 in either of these stats the +stat gifts are even weaker 'cause you'll start getting diminishing returns. Besides, 25/25 is quite the boost in act one! I say 15/15 at most. The +stat bonuses don't even have the "some help on your way to a trait" argument going for them anymore either.
As for crit... poor druids who end up with that one.

and a "nah, this sucks" button for the birthday presents (similar to LtAP) would be fine - after 10 minutes I ended with boring +attr traits - I'm too impatient for mouse-wheel acrobatics

What you mean by "nah this sucks" button?

an "undo" button ?

yes, especially Althea's trait is hard to undo - when rolling back one has to distribute the attribute points again
