I think I need to reduce the number of days allowed for grinding by a lot

Re: Third Act Beta! - SOTW 0.8.26
I ended up with my fighting team at lv25. Except Vaelis, because I'd left him out of it for a while. This is purely due to the "secret" grinding spot, but without optimizing encounters. I have 357 giant snake skins...
Then a bug occurred. After time ran out, it started going negative.

I'm pretty sure this grinding is really silly. You could easily reduce this to 10 days, probably less, and people would still be able to take a rest if they needed it. That would still allow you to grind to about lv22-23 though.

10 is too low since after some quests days automatically advance, but I think 15-20 should be good. The negative counter keeps going if you rest again? like -2, -3 etc?

Re: Third Act Beta! - SOTW 0.8.26
General feedback:
Including act II, I'm very pleased about the length of the game so far. I don't know how long Act IV will be, but I'm happy there's a lot to do.
I switched to Easy early on, because there were so many battles it was taking far too much time to get anywhere. There were no challenging party battles on easy in Act II, some were ve-ery long though (inflated HP and mobs with resurrection). Act III had a few minor challenges, mainly kraken and the last boss fight (the stats must have been crazy in that one compared to the rest of the Act). Some flashback quests had fights that were challenging on Easy, but they might have been avoidable, I chose to go fight pretty much everything I could in the whole game.
As for the story, even though it's very diffuse (no set goal in Act III really), there were some laugh out loud moments, I appreciate that. In my sorry opinion the volcano schtick got really old from the third time onwards though, but hey, humour is subjective. Rowinda was otherwise generally awesome, and the only mage I allowed in my party.
I spent a lot of time shopping and optimizing, maybe more than I needed to on Easy, but you can't take the min/maxing out of the seasoned role player, so kudos on providing a bunch of items to play with. I ended up with a lot of damage and speed so I could grind faster. If I could make one complaint, it's annoying that you can't see what you've got equipped when choosing quest rewards.
I romanced Chalassa, that worked out well, and nice one with the choice of boss fights in the "save the yuri" quest. Got me interested in what happens to a certain piece of tail in the future.
Alright, this was my "play as intended" game, now I'm going to go break stuff and play not as intended at all. After I've rested my eyes and head after that snake grinding that is...
EDIT: Oh, and typos and stuff coming later.

Yes, but I had 26 days left after doing everything, and only resting when forced to. That number could be reduced to 10.jack1974 wrote:10 is too low since after some quests days automatically advance, but I think 15-20 should be good. And yes, I can keep resting endlessly, making the counter go lower and lower (and grinding MORE snakes!)

Yeah fun, sure...jack1974 wrote:Or should I leave it as it is, if people find it fun to do?
It's more like a burnout trap.
If at first try it doesn't explode, it ain't Jack who wrote the code.

Re: Third Act Beta! - SOTW 0.8.26
Ok will reduce the days then, since the levels people get are too high anyway!
The crash was because I stupidly divided an integer by 1.25 so became a float and python complained
Act IV is shorter, but still several battles / places to visit. I think honestly nobody will complain about the game length

Re: Third Act Beta! - SOTW 0.8.27
When used from the frontrow, throwing manticore poison will give two hits on the enemy's frontrow: the damage done will reflect the weapons you are wielding (for example, I inflicted 30 normal damage and 55 fire damage on walking dead using manticore poison in one fight (critical hit).--- backrow zombies were hit only once). When thrown from the backrow, every enemy is hit only once.
