Posted: Sun Oct 19, 2014 9:11 am
Download it here: http://games.winterwolves.com/games/SOTW-1.0-all.zip
(as always during beta, zipped folder with executables for all platforms)
To play after Act2 you need to buy/preorder the game, you can do it here: http://winterwolves.com/seasonsofthewolf.htm
What's New in 1.0
- yayyy first 1.0 version!!!
tomorrow will do the various installers for each platform
- added 1spregen to normal spiders in act1 so the poor things can bite
- added the last two missing icons. Might replace also bramblecoat and wide slash before the "official release" next month
What's New in 0.9.9.1
- fixed the tweak menu crash!
What's New in 0.9.9
- in battles that gets interrupted for plot reasons, the effects infobox could remain stuck on the screen, now is removed every time
- twinSword, BleedingHEart and Will'o'wisp weapons now have the updated Lore text
- in the search for assassin stage in act2, now is more likely to find clues after beating the slaves (higher % than before) so you have less fights
- fixed a fun bug that would show the twins naked (bath sprite) if you replayed and ending from the gallery and then started a new game without exiting
- in the tweak stats menu added Defense nerf and lowered the HP reduction values
What's New in 0.9.8.1
- forgot to disable the tweak menu effects for Winter season
now should work on all seasons except the first as I wanted!!!
What's New in 0.9.8
- added the Fabulous Tweak Menu! (tm)
you can press the o key (letter o) while in dialogue/map (not inside fights!) and you'll see several options available to tweak all the NON-BOSS enemies. I've tried a bit and the first one seems a good compromise, the others seems already to unbalance the game too much, at least in Nightmare. If you want to try and provide feedback you're welcome. Remember that if you reload a save BEFORE you used the menu, it's reset to the default values.
- Added 1SPRegen to Cobra, Giant Snake, and such so they can always use their base skill "Bite" (otherwise they were just defending!)
- fixed more typos in skills, some character expressions in certain scenes (Leif scene at end of act3)
- added a few new fixed items thanks to fabulaparva, added to the Old Sailor shop in act3
- the hardest boss battles no longer have Random applied to their stats, so people can share strategies that should work in every case since have same stats
- tweaked SLIGHTLY the overall values in nightmare so that all enemies have less HP but higher offense, and in normal will have more attack and speed
- added a certain missing background in ACT4...(destroyed Ninim)
What's New in 0.9.7
- by mistake Confusion was setting the SPRegen to 0. Fixed!
- added text to paralysis potion explaining that they won't work on bosses
- all Vaelis' stances now can't be dispelled by enemies since aren't real buffs but combat stances
- Ranger's cripple now does 150% base damage and costs 15SP
- Ranger's Hawk Eye also increases Attack by 10% each turn, and can't be dispelled
- Added scroll of dispel in usable items: will dispel single target, usable only by mages. Might be useful against Deceit mass-paralysis
- Deceit and Jul Cleanse skill delay increased to 8 (other enemies Cleanse has still default delay)
- Hunter's Critical Hit requires staggered now, so it's different from Double Attack (before you had no reason whatsoever to use double attack!)
What's New in 0.9.6
- dwarves alchemists are less dumb now
(sometimes they'll switch to an empty/dead spot)
- buffed up the seahorses/nymph boss fight since was way too easy
- fixed a bug that could let more than one random fight show stacked in the exact same spot (so that even if you won you would still see the red arrow until you cleared all the battles).
- fixed various typos in story and capitalized the gems names
- Kraken submerge and all the other dispell debuffs could erroneously remove the battlefield/permanent buffs in some battles (like the last Kraken underwater). Now this should be working correctly!
- Kraken tentacles now pull less the party member around, since often they were just swapping the front/back character doing no damage
- added the treehouse background image in last act, and a new haunted lighthouse tile/location in act3 west of Shacklesplit
What's New in 0.9.5
- shops in act4 now have (for plot reasons) very few weapons/armors and of normal quality, except the Ratmen.
- shop on splitpaw pass has 25,000 gold now
- dire badger now won't spam defend anymore
- spirit bear made easier in Easy/Normal mode (uses a much weaker version of the Freezing Breath)
- the "Grinder" achievement was triggering only if you leveled up with a quest. Now it also works if you level up after a fight
- updated engine to a new Ren'Py version (previous saves works, I tested
)
What's New in 0.9.4
- take aim no longer stacks erroneously with study opponent (and vice-versa). Also fixed the tooltip texts about turns duration
- fixed again the Madness skill values (also could happen in other skills like Perfect Balance). Tested a bit here, but further testing is appreciated
What's New in 0.9.3
- fixed several typos
- AI bug: if you use a permanent effect like scent of star, certain enemies tried to cast dispel on you (failing) turn after turn
this should be fixed now, the AI shouldn't try to dispel any of the "permanent (de)buffs"
- skills have new icons: mirror damage, shadow of death, fatal blow, adrenaline rush
- during your travel back, now you can set camp only if you still have 1 day left to next plot event (prevents negative values)
- fixed Madness bug that was causing all the enemy stats to go instantly to 1 in certain cases
What's New in 0.9.2
- tweaked the battles. Chalassa's final battle made a bit stronger. Minotaur and Grand Mogul in easy/normal are several levels lower (so battle is easier in those cases).
- The Grand Mogul in NM was made easier overall: before the fight your party is healed by 25%, and all the enemies in that fight have less HP and some lowered stats.
- even the Minotaur is slightly easier, less HP and attack
What's New in 0.9.1
- forgot to include some files!!
- the centaurs quest should now complete if you use the "send Chalassa to scout ahead" option
- changed all pronouns referring to Auris into she/her because originally was supposed to be a male
- fixed a failed centaur fight that would just return you to the map instead of showing game over!
What's New in 0.9
- the last act (Fall) is now available to play!
- some enemies (mages/thieves) now will swap position with empty slots or dead characters to go in the back row
Some notes about this last season
Please always use the spoiler tag because there are some BIG plot twists in this last one, so that you don't ruin the fun of people who are still in earlier seasons or maybe thinking about getting the game
thanks
About difficulty:
Initially there are some boss fights that can be avoided (Auris the centaur, the Minotaur, Gnoll champion). Later there are more boss fights that are required, needless to say don't venture into the woods unless you're well equipped
In this act you have also limited shops/resources because of plot reasons, even if I've added the ratmen shop even here
About romances:
You should be able to play all the romance endings and see the relative new CG (some really cute). I've tested them all with a cheat, and it should work the same even playing normally.
About achievements:
Like above, I tested them all, but I've used cheats even this time
I think they should all work though.
About length:
This last season is shorter, longer than the first, but shorter than the second/third. I think nobody can complain about the overall game length anyway!
