I believe it's hard to make full sequel where your previous choice affect the whole world of the mc.
In fact this remind me Mass Effect series (excluding Andromeda), when Bioware keep all your choice and make them have deep consequences...

But Loren and SOTW are not the same story, and if someday in Loren 2 or 3 with encounter Althea or Shea, how choose the canon romance option?
Make Krimm canon for Shea? Or Chalassa canon for Althea?
This is more complicated than ME because the two story are not entirely related.

The worst thing is to make a direct sequel, cameos are much less problematic, since I can decide a canon ending and be done with it. For the sequels in theory I should take into account all the previous choices (or just use canon choices too, but would probably piss off people).
A reason why after Loren 2 and PS2 I'll never make a direct sequel anymore for sure. Making a game it's already complicated as it is
