You're right, Laroneas is referring to who the twins brought back from their travels.

Ok, I'm going to be honest, and quite critical here.

I'm sad to say that I only made it to day 4 before I had to stop.

What's not working for me? First of all, the spirit world. I can't suspend my disbelief, primarily due to the graphics. Visually, there's the green pastures and the forest that look like something I've seen elsewhere, nothing otherworldly about them. Then there's the giant cartoon owl standing next to my dwarf characters. This isn't dramatic or menacing, it looks stupid (sorry for being blunt). It might just be me, but I can't immerse myself in this, I don't buy it. I'm laughing at that owl, not because it's funny, but because the whole thing looks tragically mismatched.

Meanwhile, in the "real" world, the resource mini "game" is about as exciting as playing tic tac toe... solitaire. I'm juggling numbers. Or I could be, if I felt like doing math on them. Instead I just click on what looks good to me on the day. Not exciting, no incentive to go on. I don't know what I had imagined. Something with strategic movement on a tile map perhaps. This is too abstract. Feels more like a math test: If you have 4 woodcutters and 6 quarrymen, how much wood and stone will you have in 2 turns when the gnolls take 2 quarrymen per turn, and you rescue 2 captured woodcutters next turn? None, because I quit.

So yeah, maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance, and maybe this is just not for me, but I'm not drawn in here, I don't feel the desire to keep playing. I'd rather be doing something else.

However, I'll be back when I've run out of other things to play, I guess. :) Because I'm sure there's a story worth reading here, eventually. And I did throw money at it, so I want something in return. :lol:

Haha well I guess it's not for everyone. The minigame does change later with some more custom events. And the story gets a lot more dramatic later for sure...
About the owl honestly it looks more realistic than cartoon to me. I mean is painted colored, so not really "cartoon"... it would be the opposite, characters are cell-shaded and the owl not. But well probably depends on tastes :lol:

As for the backgrounds yeah maybe I could have put some more "weird" looking ones. I might do that, it would probably be enough to do some color effects to make it look more like a "Spirit World" and not an exact copy of the normal one :)

rotate the hue value of background+desaturate a bit+slightly more light. I could do that for all the spirit world backgrounds rather quickly :)

I think that's a good idea. Certainly gives it more of an otherworldly feeling.

Yeah, about the owl, cartoon was not really the issue, it's more of a size thing, and indeed a different style from the characters, which makes it looks too unbelievable to me when they're on screen simultaneously. I guess I might just not be a talking animal fan. :lol:

Luckily it seemed there weren't many bugs. I'm still waiting for fabulaparva report though, she can find the most impossible bugs :lol:
