Yes, I have the same thing, I told Ren'Py coder but he hadn't time to look into it yet...

About the rebuild minigame, yes luck plays a role, playing in Normal I managed to raise the palisade almost every time though. In Nightmare, I didn't even try...

And no, you should be resting fully between each Shea segment too, will check it now!

Ah missed this:
Spoiler:
Day 1 the town needed to eat 2 food. I started with 2 food, hunters gathered 6 so I should've had 8 - 2 = 6. Instead, on Day 2 it shows 4 food and Ninim consumes 4/day. On day 2-3 Ninim is eating 4 food. I think the Day 1 display is wrong, should say they eat four food.
The 2 is not the food needed, but the quantity available, like for wood/stone. So at beginning you have 2 food, you gather 6, so 8 minus 4/day (food consumption) = 4.
Spoiler:
I don't quite get the fire minigame. I'm guessing I need to burn all the wood in the green square and none in the orange square, but everywhere else in the game you have explanations. Also, the story text before this talked about just five trees and I'm burning way more than five trees. Does it matter how many I burn as long as I stay inside the green box? At any rate, way more fun than fighting three 1000+ HP Ents.
Yes the number of trees doesn't matter, as long as they burn inside the green box. I need to review the instructions indeed and make them more clear!

No, I mean both the food and the "Ninim eats food" displays said two on Day 1. It should be Food: 2, Ninim eats 4 food. Though when I reload, I can't get it to say 2 and 2 again. Weird. (Maybe I was just tired?)
Spoiler:
At the end of Segment 2, I'm at 18 wood/24 stone, so we'll see if I can make it. 9 days left. I am a little worried that if you mess up and fail, you have to replay a lot of the story.

I'm hesitant to say this, but then the minigame ended up being pretty easy (though it took a while to figure out "End Turn" meant "let the fire burn"). That said, if you make it too difficult, then the game stops being fun.

I just reloaded to count how many moves I'd need and this time I have a more challenging setup (most of the wood on one side). But I still won moving only four pieces. (I think the two turns before fire spreads makes it a bit easy. I think it's doable with fire spreading after each move. But it is random, so hard to say.)

Also, you can rollback on the fire minigame. Though not very far.

One other thing I noticed, I don't earn any experience for solving problems with non-combat solutions. That means if I wanted my characters to level up before the final boss (a couple are still at 23, I think?) I need to do all the fights.

Maybe you could award a small amount of experience for the non-combat minigames - comparable, if not slightly less than what the party would have earned had they fought it out? Especially if the big draw is "less combat!"
Spoiler:
So far, this specifically means the fire minigame.

I've had one battle on Shea's side in six days - when I went to rescue the lumberjacks. The guards ended up fighting the rest of the gnolls. Not sure what to do about experience there, if anything.

Hmm I think so, that part should never change (when says how much food per day Ninim uses).
And yeah trying you should replay good amount of the story, though as you noticed there are only a few required battles, most can be skipped taking alternative routes.

About the burning minigame it's usually easy but since the placement is random, is hard to know if will be hard or not. In Nightmare though a lot of wood pieces are used, so it shouldn't be always easy. I might try to change it so that you can move only once and see how it goes :)

Ah yes that's actually a good idea, I forgot to do that! Will add it on next update.

Regarding Shea's experience, I think the ending battles are possible even without leveling. Of course depends if people playing in Nightmare tells me the final battle with the giant gnoll it's possible or not :)

In other news today got the missing CGs, so later this week will add them (in the next two days I'm busy with some errands).

I've loaded the save but in my case the plot always advances after you explore 1 cave... so I can't get to see the bug
Maybe if you can send me the save just immediately before the bug happens ?

Yeah, it really depends on how the wood spawns. I can always beat it on nightmare with two turns per burn, but one really depends on the board. I had one map where the six in the center weren't touching anything and I didn't even need to move. I had another where 95% of the pieces were in one quadrant and two moves was cutting it close. I can win about half the time with one move, the other half there's no chance.

It looks like there are 28 pieces. Might be interesting to do one move with a lower number like 20 pieces. Or, leave it the way it is. No big deal.

I did crash the game after a bunch of reloads though. If I failed, I would try again, but if I won I would reload on the "Hurrah!" screen, and the seventh time:

Lol, well that's a Ren'Py crash, so not my fault at least. I'll show it to Ren'Py coder, I'm not sure how you managed to break it!

Keep replaying the fire game over and over on nightmare. Reload on "Hurrah, the fire is out!" or "Try again?" After about seven or eight times it'll crash.

By reload you mean you had a save before the fire game started right? interesting at least it's reproducible :)
