But what about the card game? Can it be romanced?

Nah, more content is fantastic, look forward to it, and happy to get more F/F romances. I am curious about the card game though, especially since that's pretty close to my favorite genre, but I guess that's for the future.

For the card game I'm still waiting for Anima to finish the framework, hopefully soon (tm)
Honestly, while I understand that some people are disappointed, it's amazing what happened with this game. Originally a TD game *, then first coder quit suddenly leaving me in a very shitty position. By pure luck found a great writer and artist who worked hard and in less than 1 year produced a lot of quality content.
Now I hope I can finish the game as I want, though I know will take some time to get the card system working properly. I've played a lot of Hearthstone recently so I think I know how to make it fun :)

* that's the reason originally I didn't plan a female main character, I thought the number of female players for TD games was low. Then decided to change my mind and luckily did, since it's not a TD game anymore

jack1974 wrote:Well, you've all the rights to be disappointed from your point of view of course.
I know BxB has good potential but the real test will be with Heirs & Graces (I'm one of the few indies with a yaoi only game being developed right now BTW).
well it's kind of hard to predict the succes of heir and graces, just my opinion : there a lot BxB game that are sold real/extremely well, but most of the one who sold extremely well either have a fan base build over the years/a really good marketing luck/target a certain demographie/ good communication with yaoi/Bara/Gay community. In other word I guess its succes demand more on luck than potential but if you manage to build yourself a fanbase it will stay.
jack1974 wrote:If that one does well, you can expect more BxB stuff in future for sure, even if a lot depends also on writers/artist/etc. (not everyone writes yaoi).
I'm not really fond of the vote with your wallet thing, but know that you say that I guess that the fact I bought most of your no BxB games works to supports you kind of work against me since it gave the impression I care more for GxB,GxG.
jack1974 wrote:For BxG, I already know that unless I go with very erotic stuff, it can't compete with the rest. But I'm still going to do it, since I want to TRY to make everyone happy, even if it's honestly I know it's an impossible goal
I know but because that except for PS2(who has 4 BxG/GxB option but only 2BxB/GxG option),QoT and Amber who all are games that start developpement a long time ago, all the futur big game have the same number of romance, I was kind of expecting that it stay that way now and that I wouldn't see something like Roommates again, now I'm not so sure about that.

It's not like Lola f/f romance's inclusion happens at the expense of a male romance. It's simply an extra for f/f players. And it's going to be written for free on top of it so it isn't even something Jack planned. Would you have him turn down a free romance? As I'm used to f/f romances being added as an afterthought in a few otome games it makes me very happy to actually have more content for the first time. Ideally I would like for BxB players to have an extra romance too but...considering it was the writers decision with Lola I don't know if it's possible.

Honestly I'm just afraid Jack will decide to scrap Lola's f/f romance :P

Sorry Exizel, I really get it. There are so few games with any romance content for LGBT and the number of L are slowly going up but not for the G. Its like every person who makes these things we are on pins and needles. Believe you me, I constantly look for games with Lesbian content (and not weird lesbian content made for dudes) thats how I found Jack.

One reason I also get any MxM stuff is to support you guys, so I might make some noise on Tumblr/redditt so maybe people are more aware of Heirs and Graces. Its hard to find jack's stuff because he always labels it under yaoi/yuri which normally I avoid like the plague. If people realize its a gay game there may be more interest?

I know, but the writer offered to write Lola x Diana for FREE, because she really liked the couple. It wasn't planned at all. One thing is if I made 2-3-4 more other romances vs yaoi, but in this case is JUST ONE more, and which I got for free. Everything else in this game is equal. Honestly, I don't think is such a big deal, also considering that as you said future games will have equal amount and I'm even making a yaoi only game  I don't think I'm ignoring yaoi fans at all !
Also, it's not easy to find writers (of a certain quality) interested in writing yaoi as it's to find the other writing straight or yuri. But I'll do my best :)

Exactly. Jack planned them all equally. The writer was simply VERY generous and offered to do an F/F route for free, if not Jack would never have agreed to pay as it is outside the plan. GxG is an incredibly tiny genre on it's own (it's not like we get a lot of games either, rather few in fact), that it is shocking someone would dredge up a Yuri vs Yaoi thingy (I know I wouldn't have made noise if the BxB folks got more). At least pick a combat size that is significantly bigger, if you have to!

Hope not. But I will respect whatever the writer and Jack decides. :) I still think it would be a good idea to also add some gameplay stuff too based on feedback that people might want or find interesting.

No I'm not going to scrap it, I would be crazy to refuse
I think people also mistakenly say "there's a lot of yuri", because for example you see many games... (I'm not making names but you know what they are) which are just boobs/fanservice without any real love story. Those I call "yuri games made by men for men" but in the worst way possible, since I have male writers working on yuri games and are doing a great job.
Those games usually have a very deep plot and character development, like:
GirlA: Hey, how are you?
GirlB: Oops, my bra just exploded, have you seen my boobs?
GirlA: Wow! Let's f**k!
<insert porn CG>
The End!

I like sexy stuff myself, but I also want a story, and that's the harder part :)

Yes! Its why I love your stuff so much, but also why I think you don't get as many people sometimes who are looking for it. I see Yuri and I expect the intense plot above. I actually bought several of your games separately and initially missed out on others because I look for LGBT or lesbian, and usually avoid things labeled Yuri.

But Jack, you make games that can appeal to both, so as a lesbian I can believe these are lesbians and not a sexy alien misunderstanding of lesbians. Some things aren't perfect, but they dont need to be. I think thats why we are so intense when it comes to the options. Many LGBT movies/media have tragic endings or don't work out. So we get our douse of romance/legitamacy from here. I know I have watched 5 seasons of a show I was pretty meh about to get 10 seconds of a canon f/f pairing. And its nice to romance someone I want.

Although some stuff is slowly being more common for real f/f. Life is Strange you can kiss your friend, Last of Us DLC had Ellie and Riley. Gone Home is practically about discovering your sisters lesbian romance. Its not much but it is a slow recognition. Hopefully games like that may start coming up for gay men.

In the mean time I plan on buying what you come up with GxB BxG or whatever because you are one of the few I know routinely making LGBT content.

Thanks :) I was partly joking in what I wrote above.
And I know people are so upset because they care about it! The problem is that there are a lot of things going on "behind the scenes" and I can't always manage to do what I want. (see that artist guy a while ago for Spirited Heart that quit because didn't want to draw yuri/yaoi scenes... that screwed up the plan completely )
