I'm at mission 25 now, and I didn't see anything other than 1-2*.

There should be, but randomized. Wait I just checked and forgot to allow 3 stars mission for the random mission! after next update they'll show up correctly

The 3* Assault decks are pretty hard, but far from impossible, I beat even the Palidrayan one in my first try.

One mission to look out for is the "Kill both Dredans and Descorians" one, especially when playing as Alex. I can beat it, but only by exploiting random effects for the optimal outcome. (Like Riot and Collapse Ground.) It's a little bit easier to beat it with Diana, but still really hard. Since it's a main mission (optional) you might want to tone it down a little bit.
