Interesting. :) Will the general difficulty level have other effect on this minigame beside the battle difficulty? Say, will they inflict more damage on your ship quicker on NM and will the player's long-range attacks be weaker against them?

(Minor typo in the last sentence, I don't think "conditions" should be in plural.)

Those of you who hate bad puns, look elsewhere....
Are those pirates rowmanceable or shall we just ship them elsewhere? :D

No the damage to the ship will be the same. In practice each turn you decide to attack from distance you'll see a normal combat round (still thinking how many "turns" allow) in which you can hit enemies and they will just defend  so the difficulty will be present there increasing enemies HP/defense and making them hard to be killed. Your goal will be to kill as many as possible before entering the normal melee battle.

p.s. your bad puns are REALLY BAD

For everyone looking to get the inevitable "Take no ship damage on nightmare difficulty" achievement, regen dance classes are only €100/hour today.
If at first try it doesn't explode, it ain't Jack who wrote the code.

Wait the ship damage is related to the ship itself, and each pirate cannon shot has a 75% chance to hit. So is a bit randomized. The ship hull has 5 "hit points" (different status condition) so once you take 6 it's game over. In practice if you're unlucky you can hit 5 times, otherwise you might be able to hit enemies from long range a few times more. I'll need to tweak it during testing of course.

Actually can't we just do it Assassin's Creed 4: Ship Simulator style? If they fire at us, we just duck and the ship takes no damage. Because enemies always aim for the crew's heads, and the crew and the ship are emphatically linked.

another fun scene  there's a treasure in a sunken ship. Rowinda has the solution and screams "bubbleheads!" and the party starts to panic fearing the consequences. Luckily it was just a harmless underwater breathing spell

*grins* When I first read it, I thought it said Bobbleheads which would have made for an interesting spell...and one I could see Rowinda doing ;)
