Lol I just discovered thanks to fabulaparva that Rowinda's candies SP recover NEVER triggered !!! now it works as the description says, 25% of HP AND SP.
Could've sworn it triggered in version 0.8.12/13-something when I was fighting the assassin. If it didn't then, either, it just goes to show how mad that guy drove me in NM.
jack1974Jul 16, 2014
Well those are "old versions" but based on my research I think it really never worked to regen SP
jack1974Jul 16, 2014
Version 0.8.18 fixes several small things and does a little tweaks on difficulty/balancing. It's all fine-tuning though Riley is happy to have nipples now!

I gotta say it's such a nice touch with Vaelis grabbing himself a glass of (presumably) fine drink in the bathhouse. The guy is a warrior, he knows how abruptly life can end. Better enjoy it while he can.
Also so much for this party being my superparty. I should have had the sense to keep my end of act 1 save

I like Chalassa soul swap disease - but it would have been nice if I had more warning before using her in a battle than only the small soundbite "I don't feel good" (or some such)
TaleweaverJul 16, 2014
Maybe you shouldn't be able to use her at all? She's not supposed to be in any condition to fight; Jariel had to practically carry her through that portal.
fabulaparvaJul 16, 2014
^Removing Chalassa altogether from the final fight would indeed make sense and definitely add a bit more challenge to the last fight. For NM-mode any added challenge in that particular fight would be a good thing.
Nice tweaks in the new version. Who knew a human and an elf could have so much in common?

Rowinda's Life Channel shows as preview for all chars 1 - do you really believe we're able to calculate the HP amount ourselfs?!? :D

Or make Yeldin try to finish whatever nasty magic he started, forcing us to protect a crippled Chalassa from him.

Ah that's a mistake in the prediction code

Yes are both good suggestions. I thought was nice to still allow the player to use Chalassa if they really want. Besides, every seasoned roleplayer knows that when you see a big rotating text "BOSS FIGHT" you immediately need to hit the save button!
Regarding the different character levels at end of this act, I forgot that I can do a very simple thing: at beginning of ACT3, since some time has passed, I can just use a function to level all characters to the same level, say 15 or something. Unless players prefer not for whatever reason I can even put a menu choice for this, so everyone can choose what they want!
renke_Jul 16, 2014
as I wrote before I'm fine with Chalassas illness and think it's a very strong story point - but it should be easier to realize before the fight (uh? what does this funny symbol mean?) that the char has some important changes ^^
jack1974Jul 16, 2014
OK will add a text before the fight then
Please Note: Chalassa suffers from a magical disease. You can still use her in the next battles but she'll be considerably weaker.
renke_Jul 16, 2014
what about a more in-game variant?
<player>: Chalassa, you are gravely ill! You're not in the condition to fight.
Chalassa: Maybe you are right, I don't feel good.
(or similar, for best results better check for grammar and typos )

I am hitting a bug the first time I kill someone in Act 2. I can ignore the error, but the battle won't finish.
I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

Okay he's gonna have to redo that. I'm gonna have to assume that the pillared structures are tall enough that a human can walk into them without crouching. The gaps of the smallest ones are at their tallest about 28 pixels, so let's say that's 2 meters, making 1 meter 14 pixels. The stairs are about 70 pixels tall, with 7 steps. That makes each step 10 pixels or 10/14=5/7~0.71 meters. IT MUST BE HELL TO ENTER AND EXIT!
renke_Jul 17, 2014
lol
but didn't you see the lift entry behind the left palm?
jack1974Jul 17, 2014
Lol yes, actually he should redo all Dingirra's tileset since is not right with the scale!
jack1974Jul 17, 2014
On a more serious note, taking a bit more relaxed today (yesterday was one of the days I worked most this year, not just for SOTW but had to do several other things!).
since the tooltip texts were going over the items before
Also using a save from fabula I saw that the main 3 heroes are all level 16 at end of Act2, so unless someone somehow manages to reach level 17, I think will use that level as "base" for the next act, offering as said the option to autolevel all chars or not (player decides).
Taleweaver is redoing some text of Riley's quest so that you don't get immediately captured if you fail an "heroic feat" () and I've also asked some other writer a help to make the drug dealing quest more interesting. Anyway, not big changes
