So, should we actually set that Unique-field to "True" for all the items that'll have a "poetic" description, even if there are more than one piece of the item on sale at Zazir's? Is it okay for the Unique-field to be true even if there's more than one piece of the item available in the game?

EDIT: Yes, I think I just typed the same thing twice. Must be all that copypasting from level 6 item to level 11 item :P
jack1974
Yes set to true, means the engine won't randomly pick them for other shops :)

Cloth shawl: Muffler (Thick knitted scarfs imported from Ninim, virtually dead stock in Dingirra's desert climate.) [only Frozen resistance]
fabulaparva
^^ That Muffler needs to go with a special price. ;) "How much? Just ten gold! Please, I implore you! Take these away from me!!!"

Setting dem fields to True, then. :)
yayswords
You butchered my descriptions. I'm gonna find a new editor.

Nice stories fabulaparva - I'm particularly fond of the shield. As for me, I would like to propose http://i.imgur.com/pvaU8b9.jpg.
fabulaparva
Lolz, thanks. I don't think I'll edit the potions-sheet. :P

Below is a list with unique names for all the items. All have silly descriptions as well, some longer, some shorter. Ran out of inspiration at a point, so if any of you have better ideas, feel free to edit. I did some quick and dirty stat editing for most of the armours to better suit the description (some were left untouched, though) and changed speed values on short bows. All unique flags are now True for these items. I hope renke's Mufflers won't break the balance.

There are *quite* a few armours now for Zazir's, especially since we are planning to have them all available from the start of Act ?. Do we need to have them all? Some of them could be trashed.

Anyway, I didn't have the patience to doodle with Google Docs/Drive, as I have never used it, so I threw the document into the same hellhole as the previous one. Sorry, renke. My AD-block takes care of the ads so I don't even see them,,, I guess I'll just say "Welcome to the Dark side, we have cookies"

EDIT: Link removed : newer version up. Link further down this thread.
yayswords
I shalt nitpick these.

Harem Sandals: "Also a speed bonus." That one feels totally alien.

Halberdier's Helmet: "Unofficial version of the famous Lugal Halberdiers' headgear." I'm not sure about capitalizing Halberdier. Traditionally we do that with monster names yes, but in everyday speech that shouldn't be the case. You wouldn't do it with a physician or a tailor. Capitalizing it makes it sound really ceremonial, but they are just mercenaries. Actually glancing through the weapons I see you've done this everywhere :P we don't even need to call them by their exact monster names. Kiduu bowmen could be archers for example.

Iron Crochet Leggings: Dingirran craftmanship allows for production of fiber-like iron. This piece was made by a clumsy apprentice (removed the comma) though, so don't get excited.

Also we may as well put these items in the next build. I want my full descriptions though or ELSE.
fabulaparva
I'll dig out your full descriptions from this thread and add them. I'll remove the part about the speed bonus, lol, for some reason thought it was funny at that point. Too much editing can screw up your head worse than a night with Rafik. Anyway, I'll edit those "monster names" off the descriptions but I think I'll leave them in the weapon names.
jack1974
When you tell me it's ready I'll add it (and the full description button as well).
yayswords
I think it's easier to assess their value ingame than by looking at a giant spreadsheet. I think we'll get better ideas of what's too good, too bad, too pricey and too cheap once we can compare them to the randomly generated usually-trash items :P
jack1974
Yes I meant the descriptions. There is going to be a custom description for every unique item? I think some could just have a short blurb, like "dwarven forged warhammer in the city of Hammerhand". And done, otherwise I think could be a bit insane to do a backstory for every item
fabulaparva
It's not a bit insane, it's a LOT insane. Lol, and it's kind of done already. Every Zazir's item now has a description. They do vary from poetical lore stuff written by yayswords to unimaginative stuff like "A basic tool for every self-respecting slaver," by me. Note that the description is the same for each item's level 6 and 11 versions, though.
yayswords
The full descriptions I'm talking about...

You've seen all my lore texts here. But when renke added some of them he cut them in half or even less because he was concerned about screen space. I want them back, untouched :P

(Except that Euphoria is about a necklace but the item became a ring)

Most have pretty "short blurbs", 1-2 sentences long.

Nitpicking myself for the Replica Ember Blade: "...than they knew about his life."

Ah sorry I didn't check the latest version of the .ods :)

Haha probably he missed the info about adding an extra button. I don't even remember where I posted it  everything is a bit messy right now!

Yes that's good enough.
fabulaparva
Hehe, I think that if ever something like this will be done again, it might be better to have the actual suggestions in a separate thread and the comments on them in another. Took a while to find yayswords original texts. Editing them in untouched now. (well, gotta check that Euphoria) :P
fabulaparva

OK, made an exception to this. The Necklaces have different names and descriptions on level 6 and 11:

Yayswords, I used your "Carzanna's Radiance" +2SPR-necklace for the level 6 necklace and the description is there in full. I did not change any of the stats on the jewellery, though!

Level 11 necklace is still tagged unimaginatively by me as "Mana Channel No 4." :P

Latest version .ods can be downloaded at:

EDIT: Link removed - newer version on the next page

Comments and edits are naturally still more than welcome.
yayswords
Yeah I missed this nitpick for your necklace text. Remove the "the". Oh and the bow, not sure why birthday is capitalized :P

Carzanna's Radiance does not do well (lorewise) as an item that can be purchased several times though. It's not what I had in mind when I wrote it. Better to change it back I think.

Also we shouldn't pass on the opportunity to write up something epic for the legendary items, at the very least the three quest rewards at the end of act 2.
fabulaparva
Ok, thanks! I'll do those grammar changes and remove your legendary Carzanna's Radiance. :) Back to Mana Channel No 2 it is, then. :P I won't upload a new version until later, though. Maybe renke will have time to comment before that as well. :)

I'm not so sure about writing for the 3 legendary rewards. Yes, Krimm and Chalassa's backstories will give info to be able to put something canon-enough for those two, but Riley's necklace is different. It's not really told yet, why getting it is "very personal" to him nor why it is "worth every risk" so I'm a bit concerned that if we'd touch that, we'd end up with something contradicting possible later revelations on Riley or the necklace.

On the other hand, some unique legendary/masterwork items, such as the dagger 'Slith', seem to be fair game. Not sure if I'm personally up to writing prose for those right now though. :P
yayswords
Yeah well, I nearly suggested Taleweaver should write those, but I figured if I don't say it he'll come storming in demanding to write them and thus be obliged to do it. I'm still expecting that to happen.
jack1974
He's busy working on another project, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have time to do those. But from what I see you're doing a good job :)
