College Romance released

two is better than oneThis weekend I released the visual novel College Romance: Rise Of The Little Brother. The game was developed by Ewan Grantham, and follows the romantic adventures of a teenager that just entered the college.

Initially there should have been 2 more characters (girls to meet), but we had some problems with the artist which had a really busy month, so we decided to release a sort of “light version” at lower price and then in few months release a Deluxe version.

The cool thing is that this way we’ll be able to gather the feedback of the users about the first release, and add new features to the deluxe version. So far the major requests are about a more expanded dating sim structure like the one present in my other game Summer Session, and in general to have more choices during the game.

This way the game wouldn’t be anymore a real Visual Novel (which usually have much less choices) but well, we should do what the public wants after all 😉

Bionic Heart promo trailer

I’ve just uploaded a promotional trailer of my upcoming sci-fi game Bionic Heart. It shows the use of the holomap to move to the various game locations, some dialogues, and a hot Helen in jogging outfit 😉
I’m quite proud of what I’ve done so far, and I think this game is definitely different from my previous dating sim /visual novels.

108 different situations

What means that number? it’s the result of this calculation for Spirited Heart:

6 different boys that can be met ingame x 3 different playable races x 2 job types x 3 events each = 108 unique situations

Each situation means an event that happens if the player is doing a specific job, and that day she meets with one of the 6 boys available inside the game. Such a variety of situations hopefully means a very replayable game!! 🙂

Each event will be written accordingly to the job type, but also the race selected. Example, you work as waitress in a tavern. The character you can encounter there is Janimee, an elven bard. But each of the 3 playable races (human, elf, demon) will react differently to the situation. The human will be the “neutral” one, while the elf will always try to be polite and kind, and the demon instead will always be bad and annoying. The player will have a choice of option for each situation, and the right choice will increase the “love” value of the boy.

So if you manage to pick the right answers in the 60% of cases, you’ll be able to engage with one of them and at last get married, which is one of the possible endings for the game.

So far I only wrote 10-12 of those 108 situations, so there’s still a long way to go…!!

New Year Goals

I never set myself any special goals, because I know I don’t need any extra motivation…being able to survive is enough 😀

But this time I wanted to. In my plans, I want to release 4 new games next year! It’s a very ambitious goal, but I think I can make it. They’ll be all sort of adventure games but mixed with other genres. You already know about Spirited Heart, but recently I’m working hard also on another game: Bionic Heart!

Fun because until now I didn’t realize I used same word (heart) on both games! But they’re very different kind of game. Spirited Heart is more casual, and in general in a happy mood. With Bionic Heart instead, I’m hoping to recreate the dark, oppressive atmospheres of sci-fi classics like Blade Runner & Co. Not an easy task of course…! For now that’s all about this game, if you’re curious you can see the main menu image below… 🙂

This kind of setting really intrigues me. I’m writing lots of texts and dialogues, I feel really inspired! Also, I’m not making a visual novel this time, but a sort of mix. You’ll have more freedom and choices, but the interface will still be simple and you won’t be stuck like in many traditional adventure games.
