The good old RPGs…

What are your favourite RPGs ever?
Mine is a long list. I’d start with Dark Sun: Shattered Lands of the SSI. That game was really marvellous, realtime action with turn based combat. That system in my opinion is one of the best ones ever used.
Another masterpiece surely is the Fallout series by Black Isle. Man, those games had so much atmosphere… even in plain old isometric view, they were more interesting than those recent full realtime 3d games… (not that is a bad thing, but means that technology isn’t everything).
Recently I didn’t play any good RPG, even Temple of Elemental Evil was a bit too combat oriented, still is the best one I played in the last years!
well the situation isn’t very good with all those MMORPG around. Personally after playing for over 3 years Everquest now I can’t stand anymore any kind of MMORPG game 🙂 didn’t even tried World of Warcraft…!

Another niche game is coming…

Yes, for a moment I thought to make a casual game… but I couldn’t resist! 🙂
So about 2 months ago I started to develop Magic Stones, a sort of mix between a fantasy card game and a rpg game.
Originally I wanted to include 2 modes of play, one more casual like match-3-colour and another more niche like fantasy battle using avatars.
Now only the last game style remains 🙂 I am still making all the graphics of the game for now, haven’t started to code anything… also because I’d first have to write down all the rules of the game and this might take some time…!

Look at a pic of the main menu of the game:
