Italy – France

Yeah, the final of world cup is Italy – France! quite surprising result, if you were considering how those 2 teams started the tournament. Their first performances were anything but impressive… But still here they are, I guess this shows once more that to win a World Cup, beside obviously having at least some good players, you need to be on good fitness.

Greece victory in latest European Cup clearly showed that… which is quite sad, because it means more physical soccer and less tecnique, dribblings, etc which are the basis of the real fun of watching soccer!

heroes of czech republic!

Yeah well the title is a bit fun actually 😀

What it means? a interesting company from czech republic made a cool game that reminds me of Heroes of Might & Magic (of course, we’re talking about a shareware here, so no 3d realtime or ultra special FX!). Ok ok, bad title, but the game is cool!
You can find more info about this strategic rpg game on my site. Check the demo, is available on pc and mac!

Incoming adventure from Sakura

After playing Fahrenheit, I got very interested in adventure games. I talked with my friends at Sakura and I just discovered that they’re working at one! it will be a simple 2d adventure game with manga art. The artist they hired is great, even if is from USA so not a true japanese artist 😉

< just joking, I know many people from USA who draw manga quite well! >

I’m curious to play it, even if I’ll probably have to wait until this autumn…

summer is dangerous for game development!

Yes it is! all the nice weather, the sun, the babes on bikini… ehm, ok I’m digressing. But is true, working during such periods is quite hard, I must admit. I think is not a coincidence that I released almost all my games during autumn/winter! I didn’t notice until I started to check each game release date:

Universal Soccer Manager (September ’03)

Spin Around & Ignazio the Frog (January/February ’04)

Universal Boxing Manager (April ’04)

Quizland (July ’04)

The Goalkeeper (September ’04)

Supernova: Galactic Wars (January ’05)

Magic Stones (October ’05)

In some cases the game was ready even before (like Goalkeeper) but I waited to release it, because having to fix bugs or deal with PR problems etc during the hot months for me is a pain, all the sweat, I can’t concentrate and I would do more damage than good… well we’re called Winter Wolves after all no? 🙂

flash professor fizzwizzle!

Interesting post from my friend at grubbygames.com about the huge traffic spike he got thanks to a flash version of his game Prof. Fizzwizzle

The figures he posted in forums are quite impressive. I thought about making flash version of my games too, the problem is that they’re quite complex (not the average casual game) and honestly don’t know if the money/time spent on them would be recouped easily…!
